Good afternoon, everyone!

The topic of my speech today is ¡°Cooperate with others¡±.

In this busy, modern world, if we want to complete our work effectively and efficiently, we must all learn to cooperate with others. If we lose our partner, then we will fail. Cooperation can save us a lot of time and energy. Additionally, we can learn much from our partners by cooperating them.

When we cooperate with someone we like, we will feel very happy. And we can share our pleasure and sadness with him. But it can be difficult to be cooperative with someone we dislike. In such a situation, we may focus on our work, instead of our partner. Perhaps in working together with him for a long time, we¡¯ll learn that he is a man to get along well with. Even if this doesn¡¯t happen, it¡¯s still worth a try.

How can we become a good partner? In my opinion,£¨we should try to listen to others¡¯ opinions. If he makes mistakes, we also try to point them out. Thirdly, we mustn¡¯t beat others to make them in unfavorable position£©

Thank you for your listening!

Cleanliness is important to academic success at one Chinese university where compulsory labor is part of a program designed to award class credits while teaching students with proper moral values£®

During winter£¬the sky is still dark at 6:30 a£®m£®when the first year students in Trade and Management College in Zhengzhou begin sweeping the 165 acre campus and it can take up to an hour£®

Mr£®Sun£¬the university official£¬said labor is good for building character and promotes ¡°the spirit of hard work£®¡± Some students also claim that they are always proud of the clean campus£®They never litter because they¡¯ve been through the labor and understand that they should respect the fruits of labor of others£®

Some students£¬however£¬are against it because they feel the demands of the cleaning program are a distraction£®Some often show up late and hungry to their morning classes after rushing to sweep the campus and clean their rooms£®

I visited my aunt in the countryside near the city last week. I was surprising to see that great changes had been taken place in the countryside. In the past they were poor due to the lack of knowledge and experiences. Despite the fact that they spared no efforts to search of every possible means to make money, which seemed that all they did was in vain.

Now their family¡¯s income reaches as many as 100, 000 yuan each year. Not only they have a house, a car and computers, they can also afford a trip abroad. When asking what else they need most, they said that if they have learned a little English , they would have been able to do business with foreigners directly. To their delight, my cousin can use that he has learned from university to help them in overseas trade.

Edison was one of the greatest scientists that greatly shaped modem society.

When he was seven, Edison's family moved from Ohio to Michigan after his father got a job there. Because of hearing problems, he had difficulty ¡¾1¡¿ (follow) the lessons and often ran away from school. However, he used the time ¡¾2¡¿ (read) books and set up a laboratory in his home. But the smell from his laboratory was often so strong ¡¾3¡¿ his mother had to stop him from carrying out any more experiments at home.

At the age of twelve, Edison got a job on the Grand Trunk Railway. There, he made use of an abandoned (±»Å×ÆúµÄ) car ¡¾4¡¿ his laboratory. During that time, he ¡¾5¡¿ (success) developed a device (É豸) that could send messages. By 1869, Edison' s inventions in telegraphy were widely accepted, ¡¾6¡¿ made him decide to leave the job and become a full-time¡¾7¡¿ (invent). Edison's most' "well-known" inventions included the electric light bulb, microphones and so on. In explaining ¡¾8¡¿ he could come up with so many inventions, Edison said "Genius is one per cent inspiration and ninety-nine per cent perspiration."

Edison ¡¾9¡¿ (die) at the age of 84 on October 18, 1931. At the time of his death, he was still doing experiments in his laboratory in West Orange, New Jersey. He clearly enjoyed his work and lived life to¡¾10¡¿ fullest.
