Do Prep Your Clothes

You've thoroughly cleaned out your closets and drawers, and have a mountain of clothing waiting to be donated.Before you bag up these pieces, inspect each one to ensure that they’re in good condition. Make sure all buttons are accounted for, and that you can't see any stains. 2.

Don’t Donate Damaged Items

The number one rule of donating your stuff is to make sure that it' s in good, useable condition. Don’t pass along clothes or furniture with rips(裂口) or stains, chipped dishes, books that are missing pages, or games with lost pieces. 3.Find a local company that will recycle these items instead.

To his silent question of why I was doing it, I added, “Just pay it forward for someone else.” And he said, “Well, you know what? I was actually treating these five homeless guys out there.” He was actually paying it forward, in the first place. What an unexpected fortune to get a chance to be a part of a man’s act of kindness.

You might not realize just how much work goes into making a newspaper. A good headline tells as much as possible in a short space. There never seems to be quite enough space to express completely what you want to say.

News headlines often focus on the central and most important new information. The relevantly insignificant information might be left out in order to stress the main idea or just to be brief. News headlines are featured by the vivid language. They add something special to attract readers’ eyes. Because the headline aims to describe the main focus of the story in six or seven words, every word counts and accuracy is decisive. For instance, “stab”(刺杀) is a better verb than “kill” because it tells the reader how the criminal did his deed; similarly, “Toyota” is a better noun than “car”. But the make of a good headline is not characterized necessarily by the amount of information in it.
