Guy de Maupassant was a well-known French novelist in the 19th century．in August, 1850, he was born into an ordinary family in Normandy, France, where he was brought up too． When he was still a boy, he showed great interest in literature．Luckily for him, his mother loved literature deeply, who encouraged him to write poems．His mother became his first teacher, who led him to his literature career． Since 1871, he began to make use of his spare time to write．Before long, his works were very popular with people．It was during this time that he finished his master piece “The Necklace”, Which made him better known． As for his stories, most of them are short ones, which give people a surprising ending． |
