8.Why is setting goals important?(36)GInstead of just letting life happen to you,goals allow you to make your life happen.
Successful people imagine how their life should be and set lots of goals.(37)FIt's like having a map to show you where you want to go.Think of it this way.There are two drivers.One has a destination in mind which can be found on a map.She can drive straight there surely without any wasted time of wrong turns.The other driver has no goal,or destination or a map.She starts off at the same time from the same place as the first driver,but she drives aimlessly around,never getting anywhere,just using up gas.Which driver do you want to be?(38)B
They decide what they want in life and then get there by making plans and setting goals.Unsuccessful people usually just let life happen by accident.Goals aren't difficult to set,and they aren't difficult to reach.(39)CYou are the one who must decide what to achieve and in what direction to aim your life.
(40)AWritten goals can be reviewed regularly,and have more power.Like a contract with yourself,they are harder to neglect or forget.Also when you write your goals in a particular way,you are able to make yourself continuously aware of situations that will bring you nearer to your goals.

A.Research tells us that when we write a goal down we are more likely to achieve it
B.Winners in life set goals and follow them through
C.It's up to you to find out what your goals really are.
D.It's difficult for a driver to reach his destination without a map
E.Because goals can help you do,be,and experience everything you want in life.
F.By setting goals you are taking control of your life
G.Because everybody should have a goal in his mind.

解答 GFBCA
 36.G 细节题.前句是一个问句Why is setting goals important?
It's like having a map to show you where you want to go有了目标就像地图一样指引着你往哪里去,所以通过设立目标就能掌握自己的生活,故选F.
You are the one who must decide what to achieve and in what direction to aim your life.
40.A 细节题. Written goals can be reviewed regularly…

China Set to Make Own Ballpoint Pen Tips
One of China's major stainless steel (不锈钢) producers has independently developed the special steel needed to make the ballpoint pen tips and plans to mass-produce the material to replace(31)D in two years.
The group has spent five years on research and development to (32)H the technology,ending a long-term Chinese reliance on foreign pen tips.

Eager to enhance its earning ability,the company (40)C that it planned to produce 10.5 million metric tons of steel this year,including 4.5 million stainless steel products.
Zhao Ying,a researcher at the Institute of Industrial Economics of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in Beijing,said,"All these elements can be reached only through long-term investment and increasing development,"he said.
