How to Get Children to Stop Touching Their Faces

Kids seem like they're always touching everything in their environment, from tables and chairs to doors and stairs. Since those surfaces may hold germs(细菌), you can help your child avoid illness by encouraging them not to touch their face throughout the day.

1. Once your child is about 3 years old, you can begin having conversations with them and avoiding germs, including the importance of washing their hands and how touching their face can spread germs to their nose and mouth. While just knowing this information probably won't help them break the habit, it can help set the groundwork.

2. If you don't want to criticize(批评)your child when they forget, it is important to remind them when you see them with their hands around their face or mouth. Sometimes, just knowing that they're doing it will be enough to help them stop doing it.

3. It can be hard to remember sometimes, but look for chances to let your child know when they're doing a good job of keeping their hands away from their face. Encouraging words can be a really powerful motivation(动机)for kids to keep trying when they're learning something new.

4. Children often touch their faces or mouths without thinking about it. Many times, it's just because they're bored and they're looking for a way to excite themselves. If you think that might be the case, try giving your child a toy they can hold onto.

The passage is most probably chosen from the part of 5.in a newspaper.

A.Point out any time you see your child touching their face.

B.Health

C.Offer your child something they can hold.

D.Explain why it' important if your child is old enough.

E.Praise your child when they aren't touching their face.

F.Encourage your child to wash their face carefully.

Your third year of middle school was probably a difficult and busy time. You may have had trouble getting enough sleep. We all know that not getting enough sleep is not good for our health. But it has be found that less sleep could even cause you to have fewer friends, the Guardian reported.

According to researchers from the University of California, people who don't get enough sleep are less willing to socialize(社交)with others. They are simply too tired to go out.

The researchers did a small study. They tested 18 young people who had just had a good night's sleep -as well as tested them again after a sleepless night. The participants watched videos of people with expressions walking toward them. When the person on the video got too "close" to them, they pushed a button to stop the video, which recorded how close they allowed the person to get.

The results showed that the participants kept the person at a further distance if they hadn't gotten enough sleep. They might think the person intruded their personal space. But when the participants got a good night's sleep, they allowed the person to get much closer to them.

According to a lead researcher Matthew Walker, the less sleep you get, the less you want to socialize with others. In turn, other people may think you look strange and stay away from you. This can make you feel lonely and cause you to sleep even less. It becomes a vicious cycle(恶性循环).

So if you want to be a more sociable and popular person, seeping well might help. "One night of good see makes you feel more outgoing and confident." Walker told the Daily Mail.

"I love to learn the Chinese language because it is very nice, important and I want to travel to China to complete my studies there," Karim al-Areqi, a student of the private Languages Model School in Sanaa, told Xinhua.

Teacher Mohammed Al-Ansi, who learnt the language in China and received a university degree, stressed(强调) the importance of learning the Chinese language. "It is the language of the future and it is necessary for all people to get advantages from the great development in China," he said.

"In teaching the Chinese language, I succeeded in educating students in a simple way that fits everyone," Al-Ansi said proudly, stressing that teaching Chinese has changed his life without doubt.

Al-Ansi expects that Yemen and China will work together to set up centers and schools for teaching the Chinese language in Yemen so that many young Yemenis can learn. "I hope that a branch of the Confucius (孔子学院), could be built in Yemen to teach the language and spread the Chinese culture to many students and researchers who are interested in learning the Chinese culture and language," he said. My name is Charlotte Dujardin. I'm an Olympic dressage champion (花式骑术冠军). What is my life like? You may wonder.

I'm one of those people who need their sleep. If I don't get enough, I can be pretty sleepy. I start riding by 7:30 am and I'm usually so tired from a day's training that my head is on the pillow by 9:30 pm. I'm like an old person. I've always been a deep sleeper; not even the thought of an Olympic final keeps me awake.

I work with a personal trainer who makes sure I follow a strict diet. The things I eat must provide enough energy for my daily training. For breakfast I have eggs and bread, a chicken wrap and salad for lunch, a healthy meal of meat and lots of vegetables for dinner, plus two snacks of nuts and fruit. On days off, like normal girls, I love ice-cream.

I often work seven days a week, riding from 7:30 am till 5 pm, then training at the gym. I also teach at the weekend but the days don't feel long because I love my job very much. I have a proper holiday once a year when I don't see a horse for 10 days: I need time to rest and relax.

My family is very supportive of what I do and always come to competitions. I miss my parents and other family members but balancing (平衡) my work with the relationship with them can be difficult as I'm away a lot.
