Dear Tom,

I¡¯m glad to hear that you are considering making up with Peter. If I were you, I would consider a bike as a birthday present for him.

As far as I know, Peter is alwaysin poor healthsohecan takemore exerciseby riding a biketo build up his body.In the meanwhile, you can often go outing by bike together, which is helpful to rebuild your friendship. Besides, taking a bike is an environmentally-friendly means of transport. It¡¯s convenient for him to get around as well.

Apart from giving him a gift, you can also adopt other means, such as travelling, seeing a movie, having dinner and going shopping. No matter what you do, being sincere is the most important.Ireally hope that we can be good friends forever.

Best wishes,

Li Hua

One day a man came home from work late, he was very tired, to find his 5-year-old son waiting for him at the door.

¡°Daddy, Can you tell me how much money do you make an hour?¡±

¡°If you must know, I can tell you that I make 20 dollars an hour.¡±

¡°Oh,¡± the little boy replied, with his head down. He thought for a moment, looked up and said, ¡°Daddy, could you lend me 10 dollars?¡±

The father was furious and shouted , ¡°If you asked for the money to buy a toy or some other rubbish, then go straight to your room and think about why you are being so selfish(×Ô˽µÄ)!¡±

The little boy quietly went to his room and closed the door. After about an hour, the father calmed down, and started to think, ¡°Maybe he really needs to buy something and he didn't really ask for money very often.¡± So he went to the little boy's room.

¡°Sorry! Maybe I was too rude on you just now.¡± said the man, ¡°Here's 10 dollars. You can buy something that you need¡±

¡°Oh, thank you, Daddy!¡± he said happily. Then, the boy took out some coins. When the father found that the boy already had money, he got angry again.

¡°Why do you want more money since you already have some?¡± the father shouted angrily.

¡°Because I didn't have enough, but now I do.¡± The little boy replied, ¡°Daddy, I have 20 dollars now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you.¡±

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿I think the Buddy Club is great. I really enjoy talking with the older students about school life and growing up. They can tell me a lot. One student told me how he relaxed (·ÅËÉ) before exams. Another student told me about great websites about learning History and English.

The Buddy Club is also a good place to just forget about school altogether! One of the older students taught us origami (ÈÕ±¾ÕÛÖ½). We made paper planes, birds and hats together.

The table tennis tournament£¨½õ±êÈü) was a great idea. I didn¡¯t do very well, but I learnt a lot from watching the doubles tournament won by a fourteen-year-old girl and a seventeen-year-old boy.

Last year, we had the annual (ÿÄêµÄ) Buddy Club Picnic. Everyone enjoyed the games we played. After I learnt how to fish, I caught two fish in the lake. I think it might be a good idea to change the Buddy Club Picnic to a weekend camping trip. We could learn how to put up tents and how to find our way through a forest. Many of the older students know how to do this already, and I think they would like to teach the younger students.

I want to say again how much I enjoy the club. When I¡¯m older, I will make friends with younger students. Then, I can tell them all about school life and growing up.
