The albatross

There are more than 12 different types of albatross and the largest kind is the Wandering

Albatross. Albatrosses are mainly found in Antarctica(南极洲), but some can be found

near Alaska, China and Japan.

Albatrosses eat mainly squid(鱿鱼) and

fish, but they will follow ships to pick up

food scraps.

Albatrosses can live for a very long time,

and one was recorded as living for 85 years.

Albatrosses are very large birds that can fly

very long distances. They spend most of

their lives flying. In fact one albatross has

been recorded as flying 6000 km in 12 days.

The mother lays a single egg every two

years. The baby usually comes out of the

egg after about two months.
