题目内容

Many people go to school for education. School education is very important and useful ,but no one can learn everything from school. A teacher ,no matter how much he knows ,cannot teach his student everything .His work is to show his students how to learn .He teaches them how to read and how to think . So much more is to be learned outside school by students themselves.
It’s always more important to know how to learn by oneself than to learn some facts or formulas (公式)by heart. It’s quite easy to learn some facts in history or a formula in maths, but it’s very difficult to use them. Edison and Einstein didn’t get everything from school, but they were all successful. They invented so many things. The reason for their success is that they knew how to study .They read many books outside school .They worked hard all their lives, wasting not a single moment. The most important thing is that they know how to use their brains(大脑)。

To write a great news story, you have to make sure it is correct, relevant (相关的) and fresh.
For a start, all the information in a story must be correct. Not only the spelling and grammar, but also the facts.
Any mistakes that appear in a story can get a newspaper into big trouble.
For example, if a newspaper said that Yang Liwei was the first man to go into space, it would be wrong. He wasn't the first. The newspaper would probably lose lots of readers because of that mistake
A news story is not only correct , but also relevant to its readers. People are mostly interested in news that happens near to them. That is why you care more about what happens at your school than at American schools. It is also why newspapers in Beijing don't talk about much news in Shanghai or Hong Kong .
Finally, news must always be fresh. When you pick up your evening newspaper, you want to read about news that happens that day. You don't want to read about news from last week!

“Cool” is a word with many meanings. Its old meaning is used to express (表示) a temperature that is a little bit cold. As the world has changed, the word has had many different meanings. “Cool” can be used to express feelings of interest in almost everything.
When you see a famous car in the street, maybe you will say. “It’s cool.” You may think “He’s so cool,”when you see your favorite football player.
We all maximize(扩大)the meaning of “cool”. You can use it instead of many words, such as “new” or “surprising”. Here’s an interesting story we can use to show the way the word is used. Recently a specialist(专家) in teenager studies does some research on teenage problems. He thinks parents shouldn’t be blamed of themselves because there is nothing they can do to deal with the teenage problem. Whatever they do, sometimes a wonderful, kind and helpful child will turn into a terrible animal.
I’ve seen friends deal with it in all kinds of different ways. One strict mother insisted that her son, should stand up, open doors and shake hands like a gentleman whenever anyone entered the room. I saw him last week when I visited them. Lying on the sofa, he made no attempt to turn off the loud TV he was watching as I walked in. His mother was angry. “I don’t know what to do with him these days,” she said. “He’s forgotten all the manners we taught him.”
He hasn’t forgotten them. He’s just decided that he’s not going to use them. She said that she would like to throw him down from the sofa onto the floor.
Another good friend of mine let her two daughters climb all over the furniture, reach across the table, stare at me and say, “I don’t like your dress, it’s ugly.” One of the daughters has recently been driven out of school. The other has left home.
“Where did we go wrong?” Her parents are now very sad. Probably nothing is wrong with the parents.
