Scientists are not alone in the fight against the virus, as various products and apps are giving them a hand. Here are some examples.

Drones (无人机)

Drones have played a major role in disinfection (消毒). Police officers also use them to spread the latest information. What's more, they use drones to remind people to wear masks or warn them not to gather in large groups.

Robots

Robots are good helpers on the frontlines. They do many tasks in hospitals, including sending medicine or meals, doing disinfection and measuring patients' body temperature. This not only greatly reduces the burden for medical workers, but also prevents the cross-infection (交叉感染).

Mini-programmes

Different mini-programmes, or apps that you don't need to download but can use on Wechat, have also come to help. For example, you can check whether you have unknowingly travelled alongside infected patients. Community workers can collect information about people more easily with the help of mini-programmes.

Health QR codes (健康码)

People in more than 100 cities can get their own health QR codes by applying through Alipay or Wechat. This way, they don't have to fill in information like their names, ages and living addresses over and over again when they enter public places.

Knowing yourself is beyond(超过) figuring out your favourite colour or favorite subject in school. Knowing yourself is the process(过程) of understanding yourself on deeper levels inside yourself than the surface. You do not get to know yourself simply by growing up. So how can you get to know yourself better?

First, understand your own personality is the first key. Who are you in your private moments as well as in our public ones? Understand what makes you react a certain way in different situations. Ask yourself “Why did I do that?” and answer it. You also need to know about your personal values. What is most important to you? Which values can you never compromise(妥协)? Honesty or love? Next, get to know your body, including your abilities, limits and flexibilities(适应性). Have you ever said “I can’t do this” without even trying a physical challenge? Before you close the door to wonderful possibilities, take another look. Your dreams and hopes create the pathway into your future. Start getting to know your dreams well. If you want to become a musician, ask yourself: What instrument do you want to play? What level of proficiency (精通) do you want to learn? Make your dreams part of your daily pursuits(追求). Take them seriously. Work at them. Last but not least, you should take the time to find out your likes and dislikes. It takes courage to do so. But knowing this about yourself gives you a lot of confidence about who you are.

Overall, write down the things that really matter to you. Hopefully, you’ll get a clearer idea of the type of person you are.

Last Sunday evening, my parents went out for a walk with my sister. But I studied alone at home because I would have an English test. All of a sudden, I saw bright light in my neighbor’s kitchen. I thought he was cooking so I went on studying.

Soon, there was a terrible smell in the air and I thought something was wrong. I went out and saw fire coming out of my neighbor’s kitchen. So I shouted “Fire! Fire!” But no one heard or came out.

I ran quickly into my house to call 119, and then I rang my neighbor’s doorbell, knocked at the door, but there was no response. I got into the house through the window and found my neighbor sleeping in his bedroom. I woke him up and we rushed out of the house together.

We tried our best to pour water through the kitchen window, but the fire was too heavy. Luckily, the firemen came and put out the fire quickly. When my parents came back, they found I was dirty and tired. After my neighbor told them the whole story, they were happy and said I was a brave boy.
