Once there was a rich man in a village. He never gave anything to help   42  . The villagers didn¡¯t like him. One day he said to them, ¡°I know you don¡¯t like me. I will give everything I have     43   you when I die. Then everyone will be happy.¡±

But nobody   44   him. The rich man couldn¡¯t understand why they didn¡¯t believe him. One day he went for a walk by a lake. Under a big tree he happened to hear a pig and a cow   45.    The pig   46   to the cow, ¡°Why everyone likes you and nobody likes me? After I die. I provide people with pork, ham, etc. I give three or four things to them. But you give    47   one thing¡ªmilk. Why do people like you all the time and not me?¡±

The cow said, ¡°Look, I give them milk while I¡¯m   48  . They see that I¡¯m generous(¿¶¿®µÄ) with what I have. But you don¡¯t give them anything before you die. You give them ham, pork and so on only after you¡¯re dead. People don¡¯t believe in the   49  ; they believe in the present. If you give something   50  you are living, people will like you. It is quite simple.¡±

From that moment on, the rich man did his  51   to help the poor.

Hello, my friends, long time no see! My family and I went on a   1   trip to Europe during our recent vacation. We visited Paris, France, and London, England. Here I want to share my tour of Paris with you.

2   we set out, we all expected (ÆÚÍû) a fun and interesting vacation. For my sister and me, our stay in Paris had   3   meaning. It was a golden chance(»ú»á)   4    our French, since English and French are the two official (¹Ù·½µÄ) languages in Canada. My mom doesn¡¯t speak French, and my sister can¡¯t speak it very   5  (she is only in Grade Three).  So it was my duty   6   directions(·½Ïò), order food, and deal with any person-to-person communication. I was, of course, really nervous:   7    they couldn¡¯t understand my French   8   I couldn¡¯t understand theirs?

My   9   soon went away. The people in Paris   10   very happy to answer my questions. They listened patiently (ÄÍÐĵØ) and carefully, and spoke slowly   11    we could understand. One gentleman was even kind enough to lead us to the hotel we were  12  .

13   the places we visited? We visited many places in Paris. My sister liked the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe (¿ÐýÃÅ). My mom liked the Louvre Museum(¬¸¡¹¬) most. Her favorite painting was the Mona Lisa. Which places did I like? I liked all of them.

14   its romantic air, people¡¯s friendly greetings (Îʺò) and historic buildings, Paris is a city that we will   15  forget.
