Dear David,
I¡¯ve just got back home. I¡¯d like to say thanks to you and your family because you took good care of me during my stay in the UK. You were patient enough to help me with my English. You showed me around London. Your mother sent me to hospital when I felt sick and cooked delicious food for me. Now, I have improved my English and learnt more about British culture. I would like to invite you and your family to my home. I will cook Chinese food for you. I¡¯m sure you can/will have a good time visiting China.
Yours,
Li Hua

In the 13th century, the famous Italian traveler, Marco Polo, traveled a long way to China. One of the things he discovered was that the Chinese used paper money. In western countries, people did not use paper money until the 15th century. However, people in China began to use paper money in the 11th century.
A Chinese man called Cai Lun invented paper almost 2,000 years ago. He made it from wood. He took the wood from trees and made it into paper. He then put these pieces of paper together and made them into a book.
Now paper still comes from trees. We use a lot of paper every day. ¢ÙIf we keep on wasting so much paper, there will not be any trees left on the earth. If there are no trees, there will be no paper. ¢ÚEvery day, people all over the world throw away about 2800 tons (¶Ö) of paper. It takes 17 trees to make one ton of paper. This means we are cutting down 48000 trees every day.
Since it takes more than 10 years for a tree to grow, we must start using less paper now. If we don¡¯t, we will not have enough time to grow more trees to take the place of those we use for paper. So how can we save paper? We can use both sides of every piece of paper, especially when we are making notes. We can choose drinks in bottles instead of those in paper packets. We can also use cotton handkerchiefs (ÊÖÅÁ) and not paper ones. When we go shopping, we can use fewer paper bags. If the shop assistant does give us a paper bag, we can save it and reuse it later.
Everyone can help save paper. If we all think carefully, we can help protect trees. But we should do it now, before it is too late.

Paper is made from trees, so we should try our best to _________ paper so that we can help ________ the trees.
We know that many animals do not stay in one place . Birds, fish and other animals move from one place to another at a certain time. They move for different reasons: most of them move to find food easily, but others move to get away from places that are too crowed.
When cold weather comes, many birds move to warmer places to find food. Some fish give birth in warm water and move to cold water to feed. The most famous migration(ǨÒÆ) of the fish, which is called ¡°salmon(´óÂí¹þ)¡±. This fish is born in fresh water but it travels many miles to salt water. There it spends its life. When it is old, it returns to its birthplace in fresh water. Then it gives birth and dies there. In northern Europe, there is a kind of mouse. They leave their mountain homes when they become too crowed. They move down to the low land. Sometimes they move all the way to the seaside, and many of them are killed when they fall into the sea.
Recently, scientists have studied the migration of a kind of lobster(ÁúϺ). Every year, when the season of bad weather arrives, the lobsters get into a long line and start to walk across the floor of the ocean. Nobody knows why they do this, and nobody knows where they go.
So, sometimes we know why humans and animals move from one place to another, but at others times we don¡¯t. Maybe living things just like to travel.
