I've always been very interested in the beauty of China’s culture and history. So when one of my friends moved to Beijing from the UK.It was the perfect excuse to visit.
My friend Tony and I had expected a big city filled with buildings and busy streets. But when we arrived,we were surprised.
The first thing that surprised us was the space. Beijing is really huge. Its wide streets and green spaces made every area feel less crowded(拥挤的).Everywhere we looked, there were people cleaning and tidying. It really gave off national pride.
We were worried that few people would speak English in Beijing. But we found that it was common for Chinese people to know a few words of English.and many knew much more.
But the most exciting part of our visit was riding around in the sunshine on bicycles—we felt very Chinese as we travelled around the city on shared bikes.
It was great to experience Beijing in person. This was my first visit to China. but certainly not my last.
