题目内容

It’s important for everyone to have a good neighbour. In China, there is a saying that a distant relative is not as good as a near neighbor(远亲不如近邻). I agree with it   1   from my experience (经历), I think it’s  2  for each one to have a good neighbor.
First, a good neighbour is a good friend. One winter day when our family moved to a new house, our neighborhood helped us to   3  some furniture(家具) and told us something   4  this neighbourhood. They invited all members of  5  family to their home and have a hot drink. They made us   6  comfortable here.
Next, a good neighbor is a good relative(亲戚).When we travel, our neighbors    7  take care of our house and keep the letters for us. When they    8 , we also help them as they do. In the new neighborhood, we always    9  each other. We are just like good relatives.
Finally, I get a very important   10  from our neighbours that having a good neighbour is being a good neighbor yourself.

On Thanksgiving Day, a teacher asked her class of firstgraders to draw a picture of something they were thankful for. She thought that these children from poor families actually had little to be thankful for. And she found most of them drawing pictures of flowers or tables with food. The teacher was very surprised to see the picture Douglas handed in. It's a hand,a simple hand.
But whose hand? The class were very interested in the strange picture. "I think it must be the hand of God that brings us food," said one child, "A farmer’s," said another, "Because he grows beautiful flowers. " Finally when the others were at work ,the teacher went over to Douglas' desk and asked whose hand it was. "It's your hand, Teacher," he said quietly and shyly.
She remembered that she had often taken Douglas, a dirty lonely child, by the hand while having a class break. She often did that with the children. But it meant so much to Douglas. Perhaps this is everyone's thanksgiving, not for the material things we get,but for the chance,in whatever small way, to give to others.

On a cold morning at a bus station, a man played six famous pieces of music for about an hour. During that time, about two thousand people went through the station, most of them were on their way to work.
3 minutes later: a middle-aged man noticed there was a musician playing. He slowed down, stopped for a few seconds and went away.
4 minutes later: the musician received his first dollar. A woman threw the money in the box and kept on walking without stopping.
6 minutes later: a young man stopped to listen to him. Then he looked at his watch and started to walk again.
10 minutes later: a 3-year-old boy stopped to look at the musician, but his mother took him away. Several other children did the same as the boy. And nearly all the parents took their children away.
45 minutes later: the musician kept on playing. Only 6 people stopped and stayed for a while. About 20 persons gave him money but left quickly.
After 1 hour, the musician finished playing. In the end, he collected $ 32. No one noticed that he had finished playing.
No one knew this, but the musician was Joshua Bell, one of the best musicians in the world. At that time, he played one of the most wonderful pieces ever written, with a very expensive violin.

In a school some trouble was caused by the students. They are very naughty and didn’t obey the school rules. They often fought with each other and they didn’t forgive each other. One day a new teacher came to this school. When he heard that, he came up with a good idea.
He told each of his students to bring a clear plastic bag and a bag of potatoes to school. For every person they didn’t want to forgive in their lives, they chose a potato, wrote the person’s name on it, and put it in the plastic bag.
Some of their bags were very heavy. They were then told to carry this bag with them everywhere for one week. They would put it beside their bed at night, on the seat when sitting in a car or on a bus, and next to their desk at school. Days of carrying the bags around with them made students get to know what a weight they were carrying in their minds. And they had to pay attention to it all the time so they didn’t forget it or leave it in embarrassing (令人难堪的) places. As time passed by, the potatoes went bad and smelt nasty.
Too often we think of tolerance as a gift to other people, and it clearly is for ourselves! If we choose to keep our sadness and hatred (仇恨) in our hearts, we will have to carry them around all our lives. After that, the students got on well with each other and didn’t fight anymore. Learn to forgive , and you will be happier at the same time.

“Do you like my dress?” She asked a lady. “My Mum made it just for me,” she said with tears in her eyes.
“Well, I think it’s very pretty, so tell me, little girl, why are you crying?”
The little girl answered in a low voice, “After Mum made me this dress, she went away. My Dad says that she’s up in heaven with grandfather.”
Finally the woman realized why she was crying. She felt very sorry for the little girl and held the child in her arms.
Just before the lady wanted to go, the girl stopping crying, walked back from the woman, and showed her a spot (点) on her dress, and said, “Right here is where my Mum kissed my dress, and here,” pointing to another spot, “and here is another kiss, and here, and here. Mum said that she had put all those kisses on my dress so that I would forget my sadness.”
The lady realized that she wasn’t just looking at a dress, no, she was looking at mother. The mother knew that she was going away. So she gave all her love to her lovely daughter and put it into the dress.
