It’s fun to receive presents. It also feels good to give to others. So what’s the best way to budget(预算) your money, shop wisely and spend the least money if possible?
Susan Beacham, from a company that teaches money-management skills to kids, gives us some good advice.
“My first tip is to make a list and check it twice,” says Susan. She suggests that kids talk with their families about whom to include in their gift giving and how much to spend. Start by writing down names. Then put a dollar amount next to each name and add it up. Do you have enough money? If not, make changes. And don’t forget—not everyone needs a store-bought gift. Susan points out that some of the best presents are free. Add to your list the names of people you want to give gifts of “time and talent”.
The best gifts don’t cost a thing. Kids can give “time or talent”, says Susan Beacham. Here are some of her top gift ideas.
·For the elder members of your family, do something for them, such as cleaning houses and washing clothes.
·For a friend, create a work of art, like a poem, a drawing or a necklace.
·For teachers, write a note telling her how special she is to you.
·For the people who live around you, show that you care by volunteering. Find out who needs your help and what you can do. Giving your time to help others may end up being the best gift of all!

It's important to develop the healthy habits in your daily life. The following will help you become healthier and keep perfect shape.
Eat properly. A healthy diet is very important for everybody. Breakfast is the most important meal in a day. Doctors suggest that students’ breakfast should include fruit, eggs, milk, rice or noodles, because these can offer them necessary energy, help them listen carefully in class and keep them healthy. Eat enough for lunch and little for supper. But remember that too much sugar is bad for your teeth and blood. You shouldn't have too many sweet snacks and desserts in your diet, even though such food tastes delicious.
Keep off germs(病菌). Daily tooth cleaning reduces the amount of germs which will spread diseases. Germs in the mouth are likely to enter the blood and cause illness, even heart disease. Even if you’ re not sick, always remember to cough or sneeze into your arms instead of your hands because hands can spread germs to others when you touch something else. Besides, washing hands is necessary after going to the toilet or before having a meal. And you'd better rub both hands while washing them.
Exercise regularly. Regular exercise can improve your moods and balance. Wha’s more, it’s good for bones. There are many forms of exercise: walking or running for about 30 minutes a day playing ball games twice or three times a week, swimming or dancing often. You can choose your favorite to practise regularly. You will not only feel energetic but also think better after doing exercise.
Stay connected. Having regular communication with friends is the key to reducing stress. And sharing happiness and sadness, exchanging information with others can also help improve memory. Having a friend or a circle of friends can help you feel good.

For 99% of human history, people took their food from the world around them. They ate all that they could find, and then moved on. Then around 10,000 years ago, about 1% of human history, people learned to farm the land.
The kind of food we eat depends on which part of the world we live in, or which part of our country we live in. For example, in the south of China they eat rice, but in the north they eat noodles. In European countries near the sea, people eat a lot of fish. In central Europe, away from the sea, people don’t eat so much fish, but they eat more meat. For example, in Germany and Poland, there are hundreds of different kinds of sausages.
In North America, Australia, and Europe, people eat with knives and forks. In China, people eat with chopsticks. In parts of India and the Middle East, people use their fingers to pick up food.
Nowadays it is possible to transport food easily from one part of the world to another. We can eat whatever we like, at any time of the year. In Britain, bananas come from Africa; rice comes from India or the U.S.A.; strawberries come from Chile or Spain. Food is a very big business. But people in poor countries are still hungry while people in rich countries eat too much.

Time can be categorized (分类) into three general types:
Predictable Time: Such activities as classes, team practice, eating and sleeping. If you know the restaurant is open between 7:00am and 7:30pm, you should plan to eat sometime between that block of time.
Discretionary Time: This is free time that can be planned in a manner matching with your lifestyle and to carry through the most important considerations in your life.
Imposed Time: Activities including unexpected and difficult or dangerous situations which happen suddenly and which require quick action to deal with them.
How to manage your Time:
Value Your Own Situation. The first step is to know yourself. People work differently. Some people are very active in the early morning and can carry out much at that time. Others find that their most powerful time is later in the day.
Get Organized. Make a shopping list or make some type of planned notebook. This may seem simple but you would be surprised how many people do not use these necessary things.
Prepare a To-Do List. Consider all that you wish to complete and make a list. Prioritize (优先排序) these items using three rules A, B, C:
A=" Most" important goal that needs to be completed very soon
B=" Next" important goal that does not have immediate necessity
C=" Finally," do all other things.
Plan Your Time. Fill in any spaces purposely left blank, and block out time to sleep. Be realistic, most college students don’t go to bed at 9 pm. Choose time for recreation each day.
Plan Study Time. Students should study 2-3 hours for every unit, for a total of 25-35 hours per week.
Time management is a system of learning to give first concern to the tasks you wish to complete. The key to being a good time manager is to learn to make full use of discretionary time and try to use it successfully.

Dear Mr. King,
Your supermarket chain is excellent in many ways. I enjoy the things you sell, such as the selection of produce (农产品) and fresh bakery items. I have been a long time supermarket shopper and hope to continue for many years. I have found, however, that I must make a separate shopping trip to one of your competitors because there are many items your store does not carry. This becomes inconvenient for me, as my time is valuable, and I do not like to make two trips. Your low prices and excellent customer service keep me coming back to your supermarket, but I would be a more satisfied customer if I could find all the items I need in one place.
To tell the truth, I have never been able to purchase nacho (烤干酪辣味玉米片) cheese soup at your store. I can find other flavors (味道) of soup, but your store does not carry nacho cheese soup, a common ingredient (原料) in many of my recipes. In addition, I can only find large wonton wrappers (馄饨皮), while many other stores carry both large and small and offer a more varied selection for their customers. Another example is Regent Brand Chili Seasoning. Though it is not a leading brand, it is still common on the shelves of other grocery stores in this area and is superior in flavor to its competitors.
I sincerely hope to continue a relationship with your store, and I hope that you will consider the possibility of expanding your goods to be more competitive.
Yours truly,
Bob Watson
