Mr King worked in a shop and drove a car for the manager. He drove carefully and could stay cook in time of danger. And he escaped from several accidents.

Mr Baker, one of his friends, worked in a factory outside the city. (1)It¡¯s far from his house and he had to go to work by bus. As the traffic was heavy in the morning, sometimes he was late for work. His manager said the young man would be sent away unless he got to his office on time. Mr Baker hoped to buy a car, but he didn¡¯t have enough money. Then he decided to buy an old one. He went to the market and at last he chose a beautiful but cheap car. He said he wanted to have a trial drive, the seller agreed. He asked Mr King to help him.

Mr King examined the car at first and then drove it away. It was five in the morning. (2)There were few cars in the street. (3)At first he drove slowly and it worked well. Then he drove fast. And when he reached a crossing, the lights turned red. He tried to stop it, but he failed and nearly hit an old woman. A policeman told him to stop, but the car went on until it hit a big tree by the road.

¡°(4)Didn¡¯t you hear me?¡± the policeman asked angrily.

¡°Yes, I did, sir,¡± said Mr King, ¡°but the car didn¡¯t.¡±

¡¾ÌâÄ¿¡¿Do you get angry when your friends sing loudly while you are trying to work or when your best friend doesn't wait for you after school?

If you do, you need to take control of your feelings. Getting angry with others can cause you to lose friends.

Gary Egeberg, an American high school teacher, has written My Feelings Are Like Wild Animals to help you control your feelings. It tells how to stay__cool when bad things happen.

The book says that getting angry only makes problems worse. It can never make them better.

¡°Getting angry is not a natural way to act.¡± the book says, ¡°It is just a bad habit, like smoking.¡±

The book says you can control your anger easily... all you have to do is to tell yourself not to be angry.

The book gives many tips to help to take control of your feelings. Here are the top three.

¡ñ Keep a record. Every time you get angry, write down why you are angry. Look at it later and you will see you get angry too easily.

¡ñ Ask your friends to stop talking to you when you get angry. This will teach you not to be angry.

¡ñ Do something different. When you get angry, walk away from the problem and go somewhere else. Try to laugh.
