One evening a police officer was driving slowly along a road. He was off duty and was wearing plain clothes.

Suddenly he saw two men running out of a building. He heard someone shouting, “Help! Help! Stop thief!” The police officer was sure that the two men were thieves. He knew he must arrest them. “No, no,” the men agreed. “Please take us the quickest way.”
