all night, wearing a white coat and pretending he was a doctor. Yesterday he proudly claimed in
court that despite his complete lack of medical experience or qualifications, he had saved several
people's lives. He had even been allowed to assist a surgeon during an emergency operation on a
patient who was about to die on something she had swallowed.
"I watched one of those TV dramas about a hospital and suddenly I felt like playing one of the
roles myself. So I put on a white jacket and a stethoscope(听诊器)and walked around one of the
biggest hospital in London. At first I just watched. Once you learn how doctors talk to patients,
nurses and others doctors, it's easy to take people in," he said.
One of the patients he treated was Laura Kennan. She had been knocked down by a car and
fainted. When she came to in hospital, York was standing over her.
"He looked very professional. He told me his name was Doctor Simon. Then he gave me some
sort of injection," she said. And then he suddenly cleared off when a nurse asked who he was. She
didn't think there was anything wrong. "I would never have
hadn't showed me his photograph a week later. When the policewoman told me who he really was,
I could hardly believe my cars."
Judge Raymond Adams told York that he was. " shocked and horrified" that he got away with his
deceiving for so long, and then sentenced him to eighteen months in a special prison for criminal with
mental disorders.
"I can only hope that this will not lead to further problems. After all, you will have considerable
opportunity to study the behaviour of the psychiatrists(精神科医生)who will look after you while
you are there. If you try to persuade people that you yourself are a psychiatrist after you are set free,
I shall make sure that you are given a much longer sentence." Judge Adams warned York.

| When you are in a place where you are hunting for a new job or career, you will find that there are several things needing your atten tion. Jobs and careers are fewer than you might entirely be prepared for; especially when satisfying employment is something you need to seriously think about. How are you going to find the job that you want and how are you going to avoid traps in your way? When you want to make the most out of your job search, take a moment and think about the things that you must avoid at all costs. One of the most important rules is, never to compromise on your requirements such that it will negatively affect your life and peace of mind at a later stage. Keep in mind your basic expectations from a job. It might be something along the lines of increased monetary pay ment or you might find that it has something to do with benefits or time off. Whatever it is that you count as your basic requirements, make sure that you do not accept a job without it. Your requirements might be difficult to get, but you have all the rights to try and a chieve them. That being said, don't shy away from odd jobs that might actu ally take you to the place that you want to be in, eventually. Some- times, finding the right job is a matter of luck and chance after you have been searching and putting in a lot of efforts. And if something unexpected happens, remember that taking chances is something you might want to seriously consider. You are in a place where you are thinking about moving forward, so don't be surprised by what route it might take to get there. As long as you keep your goals in mind, you are going to be doing much better than other people are during their job search. If you are looking for the right career, another thing that you can do to make sure that you get the right kind of employment is to advertise yourself. When you do nothing to push yourself forward, you will be the one suffering for it. If required, motivate yourself and try to look at all that you possess by way of positive traits. Make sure that you can present your skills and abilities in the best light possi ble. If the jobs that you have set your sights on are challenging, set targets for yourself and work towards them in a systematic and fo cused manner. The more efforts you put into marketing yourself, the better will be your chances of obtaining the job of your choice. Remember that when you are working on a job search, you should not shortchange yourself. This is because you will only hurt yourself by aiming low. What to avoid during your job search | ||||||||
