  People in some European countries like to eat frog's legs. Sometimes you can see them on sale in supermarkets for foreigners.

  Each year, millions of frogs are exported from India to Europe. They are sent in shipments and they are killed in the rural(农村的) areas of India. Assem is a favorite place from which to get frogs.

  In recent years, the lack of frogs in the rural areas had led to sharp increase in the number of mosquitoes (蚊子) and other insects in the farming fields. Normally, the frogs world keep these insects under control. However, in many areas, the crops have failed recently because of the insects. Now farmers have asked the Indian government to keep frogs and let them live in rural areas where there is shortage of them. This is another example of the way in which man has upset the balance of nature. In nearly every country, we can find some other examples of the harmful effects of Man on his“home”.
