Have you ever noticed that we have only one mouth but two ears? Some people say that is because the God hopes that we can learn to listen to others more.
I still remember that once my best friend made a promise that she would come to my birthday party. To my great disappointment, she didn’t show up. She later tried to explain what had happened to her, but I refused to listen. There came some misunderstanding between her and me. I thought she didn’t value our friendship at all and just found excuse for her absence. But later, another friend told me that on her way to my party, she met an old man who lost the way home. She had great difficulty in helping the old man getting back home, so she missed my party. Now I felt it a pity that I hadn’t listened to her with my heart. It was until then that I realized the importance of listening.
My experience tells me that it is important to learn to listen. It is listening that can remove much misunderstanding.
