     It has been generally accepted that modem life is characterized by fast pace and great pressure. As a
result, there has been an increase in cases of stress-related diseases among high-school students.
     Some psychologists say it is due to too much pressure from their academic studies or from their parents
and teachers. A newspaper article reported that many students admitted that they have cheated in exams in
order to get high marks to satisfy their parents and teachers. When they fail to live up to their parents'
expectations, some may even commit suicide under great pressure.
     The best way to release students' pressure is to help them develop internal motivation to study. They
should know that learning is to develop themselves, not just to get high marks. Most students do better
when they are studying for themselves, not for their parents or teachers, and when they are definitely not
under pressure from school.
