In the past few decades, the popular belief in the area of organizational behavior and psychology has been that    【小题1】    workers are better workers. However, new research at the University of Alberta shows that sad workers are more    【小题2】    .
Psychologist Dr. Robert Sinclair recently conducted a series of four studies 【小题3】   the effects of experimentally induced ( 诱发的 ) happiness versus sadness on work    【小题4】     by asking the participants to build circuit boards. In the first study, sad people committed    【小题5】     few errors than did happy people, but there was no difference in the number of boards    【小题6】    .
In similar studies Sinclair found the same results along with the evidence that happy people might not     【小题7】    as much energy to the task in order to maintain their happy moods ---- they considered that task as something that might detract from their     【小题8】    feelings.
These findings are not surprising, said Sinclair, since there has been a growing body of literature in the area of social psychology     【小题9】   that sad moods lead to more calm lengthy intent consideration and often, more thought or accurate judgments. So it’s important for organizations to take into account the    【小题10】  of their employees. It seems it could be beneficial to creating situations that lead people to believe that performing their jobs will cause them to feel good.

How Writing Things Down Can Change Your Life
What do you write down? For most of us, writing consists of emails, task lists, and perhaps the odd work project. However, making time to write down certain things, such as our daily experiences, our goals, and our feelings can change the way we live our lives.
Here are five different ways that writing things down can change your life, and what you can do to get the most out of each.
【小题1】_____________________
David Allen, productivity speaker and author of Getting Things Done, recommends doing what he calls a “core dump”. This involves writing down every task, activity, and project you need to address. This could range from picking up milk on the way home, to a multi-person project at work. Writing down every “to-do” item you can think of clears space in your head for more important topics.
You can also use a technique called “morning pages”, which was pioneered by Julia Cameron, author of The Artist’s Way. Morning pages involves completing three pages (around 750 words) of stream-of-consciousness writing. Through doing this first thing each morning, you clear your head in preparation for the day’s most important thinking.
【小题2】 __________________________
Writing down what’s on your mind is a great way to work through inner conflict or process your feelings around a particular situation. It’s similar to talking a situation through with a friend, and it’s a useful way of strengthening your self-soothing (自我安慰)abilities.
【小题3】_________________________________
If you keep a journal and regularly write down your thoughts and feelings, you’ll soon have a record of your experiences that you might otherwise have forgotten. Keeping a journal can also enhance your levels of self-trust. When you can look back and see how successfully you’ve traversed and dealt with important decisions and tricky situations in the past, you’ll feel more confident in your ability to do so in the future.
【小题4】_____________________________________
If you write down everything you need to do in a particular day or week, you gain an additional sense of satisfaction, when having completed the task, you can cross the item off our list. Feeling productive enhances your productivity and fosters a sense of achievement and progress.
【小题5】____________________________________
No matter what’s going on in your outside world, when you write things down, you enter a world of possibility, which helps you stay motivated and gives you space to think big and aim high. When you write things down, you have a chance to explore dreams and ambitions that you might not feel safe revealing to anyone else yet. You also have a space to keep track of all your ideas and desires so you can return to them later.

A hobby is an investment of time. It also can be an investment of money and commitment. Many people choose to develop more than one type of hobby. 【小题1】    When it comes to choosing the hobby, consider the following factors.
Hobbies are usually an activity of some sort that brings out a certain skill that you have. When you have a talent like painting or woodworking, it can be easy to determine which hobby suits your skill. 【小题2】    Skill can be developed and challenged as you go along. It is not a necessary requirement. A hobby is fitting because you love it, not because you’re a professional at it.]
Some people particularly enjoy taking part in hobbies that they can do in a group with others. It can be a lot more fun to become a member of a hobby group than to sit alone in your basement. 【小题3】    It’s important to share interests and network with other hobby enthusiasts that do what you do.
Hobbies are generally an activity that you undertake because of the joy it brings you. Of course many people have discovered the joy that also comes with a hobby that earns you a living. 【小题4】   Just make sure you make the choice that fits your lifestyle and personal preference.
【小题5】    But most of the skilled hobbies like art, building or writing have a series of lessons or tutorials that you can take to further your skills. In some cases it’s a really good idea to take lessons, especially if you are clueless as to where or how to begin. Step by step books for most hobbies can often be found in bookstores as well.

A.However, hobbies don’t have to be skill related.
B.Most hobbies can easily be done within your own home, at your leisure.
C.Look one up or start your own.
D.Read hobby books to learn more about your chosen hobby!
E. Make a list of things that you enjoy or don’t know about.
F. It can be a necessary part of selecting the hobby that is right for you.
G. Whether it’s full time, part time or not at all, you must decide whether your hobby applies to you.
