　　China Construction Bank(CCB), one of the four largest State-owned banks, said it planned to list shares in Hong Kong before the end of this year．

　　Preparations for the initial public offering, which would raise several billion US dollars, were well underway, the bank said in a report posted on its website．

　　The bank will submit documentation including a prospectus to stock exchanges and supervision departments, once permission is granted by the authorities．

　　The report cited spokesman Fan Yifei as saying the bank will sell shares in Hong Kong first, and then target Shanghai and other markets．

　　According to the report, the bank's negotiations with potential foreign strategic investors have entered a critical stage．The bank hopes to select one, two or three such investors．
