Text 10 We all know that people who are positive enjoy life more than people who are negative.Let’s hear what people think. Andy thinks it’s very important to live in the present and not in the past.Don’t think about mistakes we made in the past.We can’t change the past. The important thing is to think about how we will do things better in the future. Julie’s tip is to think positive thoughts. We all have negative thoughts sometimes but when we start having them, we need try to change them into positive ones. For example, if you have an exam tomorrow, just think to yourself, “I’ll past.” Mary’s tip is not to spend a lot of time reading the papers or watching the news on TV.It’s always bad news and it just makes us feel depressed.Listen to our favourite music instead. David’s tip is to make a list of all the good things that happen to us every week. Then keep the list with us and if we’re feeling a bit sad or depressed just take it out and read it.It’ll make us feel better. Michael’s tip is to try to use positive language when we speak to other people. If our friends have a problem, just say, “Don’t worry! Everything will be OK.” That way we’ll make the other person think more positively about the problem. |
