The Johnson family from England believe they are lucky to be alive after surviving an incredible incident off the coast of Australia. The Johnsons had been ____ that they might see some whales when they were ____ a yacht—a large expensive boat for a 10-day sailing ____ around the Whitsunday Islands. ____, they had no clue just how ____ their viewing would be. Two hours into their journey a nine-meter-long humpback whale ____ out of the ocean and crashed into their boat before returning to the water.
Mark Johnson, the eldest son,was sailing the yacht when he heard an immense bang and a thud (重击声). He ____ thought the yacht had hit a rock. But when he looked up, he saw the whale ____ down the deck of the boat. He told the reporters, “We were staring into its right eye. It was a very ____ moment. The eye was about the ____ of a dinner plate. It was huge!”
____ for the Johnson family, no one was hurt, but the yacht suffered ____ damage. The whale had ruined the mast and rigging—the pole and ropes which hold the ____ —and so the family was left with no way at sea, 10 miles from the shore. The ____ equipment was also damaged, but fortunately they had a cell phone and were able to call for help.
Why the whale jumped onto the yacht is a ____,but the family thinks that maybe the boat had not ____ sailed between the whale and its baby calf. Perhaps the whale was trying to ____ its calf when it jumped, and hit the yacht by accident.
____ the reason, people are completely ____ that this incident happened. There is over 135 million square miles of ocean, so what are the ____ of a whale jumping onto a 30-foot-long yacht? The possibility of something like this happening is extremely small, but it just shows that life is full of surprises.

由下文they had no clue just how...
小题2:考查动词:A. taking   拿,B. driving开车,C. hiring雇佣,D. running跑,由后文的a large expensive boat for a 10-day sailing...及two hours into their journey ... Mark Johnson,the eldest son,was sailing the yacht告诉读者驾船的是他们的长子,可知这是租船之后的自驾游,否则开船的就该是船舶公司的人了。
Thus因此,C.
Two hours into their journey 他们就碰到了鲸鱼,体现了how close。选B
小题6:考查动词:A. swam游泳,B. leapt猛然行动,骤增,剧增C. slipped滑,D. stretched伸展,leap out of意思为jump out of。这与空后的crash into以及第50空后面的a whale jumping onto a 30-foot-long yacht呼吁,所以B正确。
The eye was about the __60__ of a dinner plate. It was huge!”
The whale had ruined the mast and rigging—the pole and ropes which hold the __63__可知但是快艇遭受严重的破坏,选A
小题13:考查名词:A. boat船,B. beach海滩,C. sail帆,D. journey旅程,从后面的句子:and so the family was left with no way at sea, 10 miles from the shore.
小题14:考查名词:A. radio收音机,无线电,B. craft手艺,C. guide向导,D. compass指南针,从后面的句子:but fortunately they had a cell phone and were able to call for help.
but the family thinks that maybe...
选A

I had a very special teacher in high school many years ago and suddenly her husband died of a heart attack. One day, about a week after her husband’s      , the teacher said, “Before class is over, I would like to share with all of you a (n)        in life that is unrelated to this class, but I feel it is very       .”
“Each of us is put here on        to learn, share, love and appreciate. None of us knows when this fantastic        will end. It can be        at any moment. Perhaps we must make the most out of every single       .” Her eyes beginning to       , she went on, “So I would like you all to make me a(n)       . From now on, on your way, find something beautiful to       . It doesn’t have to be something you see—it could be a sweet smell or it could be the sound of the      leaves. Please look for these things, and cherish (珍视) them.”
The class was completely quiet. We all        our books and got out of the classroom       . That afternoon, I noticed more things on my way home from        than I had that whole term. Every once in a while, I think of that teacher and        what she had said, and I try to appreciate all of those things that        we all ignore.
Take notice of something special you see on your lunch hour today.     on the beach at sunset. Stop off on the way home tonight to        an ice cream. For as we get       , it is not the things we did that we often feel       , but the things we didn’t do.

One summer, I remember, a drought (旱灾) hit Ontario, turning it into a     desert. On one of those hot mornings I was picking sweet corn with my dad to fill the last      from the grocery store. After forty minutes of aimlessly walking in the field, we      needed twenty dozen. I was completely frustrated and     . Dropping the basket heavily, I declared, “If the store wants its last twenty dozen, they can pick it themselves!” Dad     , “Just think, my little girl, only ten dozen left for each of us and then we’re     .” Such is Dad — whatever problem he     , he never gives up.
, the disastrous effects of the drought were felt all over our county. It was a challenging time for everyone,      Dad remained optimistic. He      to be grateful for other things like good health and food on our plates. Only then did I truly begin to      Dad and his faith that guided us through the hard times.
Dad is also a living example of real     . From dawn to dusk, he works countless hours to      our family. I stood outside in the cool fall air for what seemed a long time of heaven and     . The joy that I had not      for ages came upon me. I closed my eyes to decide if this dream could be     . I slowly opened my eyes and caught a shooting star (流星) flying over treetops. Tears fell from my eyes and streamed down my cheeks. I had     the true beauty of nature. It is not easy to make the decision to stop using drugs. It is even harder to stop     . Giving it up has given me hope and a reason to be      myself. It has helped me grow      and more mature (成熟).

Galaxy saw a man and a woman who communicated with the sign language at the train station when she was on the way home one evening. She noticed that the woman asked the man for the direction. He told her that he did not know. Galaxy decided to help them. She had learned the sign language when she served as a volunteer in the deaf and mute (聋哑) school. Then she showed the woman the direction and left her email address to them in case they needed her help later.
She received an email from that man the next day. Kazrim was his name. Galaxy replied his mail sincerely. They both started chatting online soon after and began seeing each other. Although they only communicated with the sign language, it never bothered her.
Galaxy was fond of him gradually. Obviously, Kazrim was the same too. He presented Galaxy with a bunch of sunflowers and asked her sincerely. “Are you willing to be my girlfriend?”
Galaxy was pleasantly surprised. She requested him to give her some time to persuade her parents.
As she had expected, her parents were very angry after they had learned of their love story.
Galaxy explained, “Kazrim is an excellent and a very optimistic person. He has a very positive attitude towards life and work. He cares for others always. He is 100% better than the normal. Moreover, the mute is still a human. He should possess a perfect and wonderful love.”
Her parents asked to see him, then. The very worried Galaxy took Kazrim home a few days later. When they were on the train, Kazrim told her, “I’m going to tell your parents that I’ll be looking after you well with all my life!” Galaxy was deeply moved.
As soon as they had entered the house, Galaxy introduced him to her parents. She said, “This is Kazrim.” Just right after her speech, an unbelievable thing happened. Kazrim threw the gift away and held her in his arms tightly.
He said, “YOU CAN TALK?” It was the same question that Galaxy wanted to ask, too.

On April 1st, Mike decided to fool(愚弄) his friends.
At lunch time he said to Tom, “I think we’re going to have a test this afternoon.” “Test?” said Tom, “Really?”
“Yes, it’s quite true,” said Mike. “When I was passing by Mr. Green’s room, he was talking with another teacher about the test. Tell John, Rose and Joan about it.”
Later Tom told them about the test. Soon almost all the students knew about it. “How foolish they are!” he thought.
When class began, Mr. Green said, “Class, we’re going to have a test today.” Mike was surprised. The test was too hard for him. After class, all his classmates thanked him very much. But he could only smile. “How foolish I was !”he thought.
It really was April Fools’ Day for Mike.
