However, a part-time job has some disadvantages. For example, you may lose time needed for sleep, rest, study, club activities, and recreation. Working several hours a day consumes a lot of time and energy and may affect study. As a result, you may find it hard to adjust to what the school expects from you as well as what your employer has the right to expect.
Because of the advantages and disadvantages of a part-time job, you have to strike the balance between school and the job. As a student, acquiring more knowledge, especially more book learning, is your first important task. Although a part-time job can do you a world of good, you should not spend too much time on it.

College students’ taking part-time jobs has advantages and disadvantages. The beneficial points are developing students’ ability, putting their knowledge into practice and becoming less dependent. The loss of time and energy is viewed as the harmful impact/aspect.
The topic of college students’ picking up part-time jobs is becoming more and more popular recently. There are two sides of opinions of it. Some people say it is an excellent practice. They hold their view for the reason that it is good to develop their abilities. While others doubt that whether it really does students any good in the long run is influences summed up like failures in exams, deserting studies and so on.

Hi, I am Mike. I just went through my first year of college. The toughest part on me at first was the general adjustment. I went to a very small high school where my mom was a teacher and she did practically everything for me. But at the college I needed to know some basic life skills, such as balancing a check-book, laundry, and the things you have to be able to handle that I never thought of in the high school! It was really tough for me at first and I got badly homesick.
Once that first semester was over and I got used to the college life, I loved it — good facilities, helpful instructors, and a good library. The Students’ Union organizes various parties every week. I also go to cinemas and concerts, and often spend Saturday nights in pubs and clubs.
One thing I think is important is to get yourself active in things. I was on the dance team in college and met a ton of people that way ··· it was so much easier to make friends when you had a common ground.
