　　If you think a Web site designed especially for complaining(抱怨)sounds unique, then think again．If you have a complaint, there are hundreds of sites that allow you to get it off your chest．Sites exist for complaining about such things as defective(有缺陷的)products, government inefficiency, and offensive advertising．There are even sites where you can complain about anything that bothers you, including love, family, or just the weather．These Web sites won't actually do anything about your problem; they just let you blow off steam．Here's a sampling of complaints people have written．

　　1．Something I can't stand is pencils! They need to be sharpened after every page you write．And then don't you hate it when they start to make a scratching noise?

　　2．Have you ever noticed that in most schools you have chairs with armrests to write on attached to the right-hand side of the chair only? Where are the desk for left handed people? It's very uncomfortable for us“lefties”to use these desks made for right-handed people!

　　3．I see red every time I get my credit card bill from the bank．There's always a check for a large amount attached with an invitation to sign it and spend it on“anything I want．”I have enough sense to tear it up and throw it away, but I bet a lot of people don't．They don't realize that when they use the“free check”, the expense gets put on their credit card bill．Boy, they must be surprised when they get that bill! I think that banks shouldn't be tempting(引诱)people with those checks．

　　4．It isn't fair that the U．S．dominates the Internet! I go to fill in a request for a catalog or a prize or a free offer, and I find it's limited to residents of the United States．I live outside the U．S．, and it's frustrating(使人沮丧的)!

　　As you are aware, your student visa regulations set out a number of conditions applying to your visa．It has come to our attention that you are failing to meet the following conditions：You must maintain accommodation, support and general welfare arrangements that have been approved by your education provider if you：

　　Many people like the feeling of the gentle wind in spring．Many like to see the falling leaves dancing in the wind in autumn．But sometimes, when the wind becomes a storm, it can be very destructive(毁灭性的)．

　　A series of such storms struck the US last month and caused very serious damage and human pain．

　　Every year, major storms cause many problems around the world．There is nothing people can do to stop these powerful forces of nature．But new techniques are helping scientists to predict(预测)how, when, and where big storms will happen．The more exact scientists' warnings are, the better people can prepare for the storms．

　　Predictions are improving．“We've gotten better over the years, especially the last few years,”says Phil Klotzback, a scientist at an American university．How is a storm formed? Even if scientists know where a storm will happen, winds can suddenly change, carrying the storm to a new direction．“For a hurricane to happen, conditions have to be just right,”Klotzback says．

　　First, the ocean water needs to be warm enough so that it evaporates and rises into the air．As it rises, the vapor(水蒸气)cools and turns back into liquid．This process gives off heat．This produces energy like an engine that causes winds to increase．It drives the formation(形成)of a hurricane．

　　If wind speeds reach 40 miles per hour, the system is called a“tropical storm”(热带风暴), and it gets a name．At 75 miles per hour, it becomes a hurricane．

　　Hurricanes that hit the US start when a thunderstorm forms off the coast of Africa．Storms also develop over tropical waters in other parts of the world．

　　On average, 60 or 70 storms form off Africa every year．About 10 of them get names．There are usually about six hurricanes．Two tend to be very big, with winds of 115 miles per hour or higher．

　　The hurricane season lasts from June to November．Ninety percent of all hurricanes hit in August, September, and October．
