The Spring Festival is the most important festival for the Chinese people ，just like Christmas for the Westerners. There are many customs on the Spring Festival. On the last day of the lunar year，people will do a thorough cleaning of the house and decorate it with the Chinese character “fu ”in red paper，which means blessing and happiness. On the Spring Festival Eve ，people usually stay up all night。
Waking up on the first day of the lunar New Year， everybody dresses up. Children usually wear their bright-colored clothes. They first extend greetings to their parents，and then each child will get money as a New Year’s gift， wrapped up in red paper to signify “good luck“.Remember to prepare the gift money for children.
