根据“5% of adults do not get enough exercise”可知没有足够的锻炼,因此人得了重病。故选A

根据第三段“People should do at least 2 and a half hours of ‘moderate intensity’ exercise each week, such as dancing”可知需要每周两个半小时的中等强度的锻炼,比如跳舞。

根据第四段“As for how to exercise more, experts says that we don't have to go to the gym every time”“go up and down stairs”以及“If we can't go to a dancing class each week, standing on one leg for 30 seconds a day is very good too”更多的锻炼不一定每次都需要去体育馆,可以上下楼梯,如果不能每周去跳舞,一天单脚站30秒也是可以的。

根据“moderate intensity exercise each week, such as dancing or swimming”可知游泳是中等强度的锻炼,A表述错误。根据“in China, with … 12% of women not getting enough exercise” 可知B选项“32%”表述错误。 根据“unlike that in most other countries, men are less active than women in China”可知在中国男性不像女性那样积极,这和大多数国家不一样,什么大多数国家女性不像男性那样积极。

根据“People across the world need to get moving”以及“exercise more”可知文章主要是讲述的是保持锻炼,让自己健康。故选C

When my family moved to America from a small village in Guangdong, China, we brought not only our luggage, but also our village rules, customs and culture. One of the rules is that young people should always respect elders. Unluckily, this rule led to my very first embarrassment in the United States.

I had a part-time job as a waiter in a Chinese restaurant. One time, when I was serving food to a middle-aged couple, the wife asked me how the food could be served so quickly. I told her that I hadmade sure they got their food quickly because I always respect the elderly. As soon as I said that, herface showed great displeasure. My manager, who happened to hear what I said, took me aside and gave me a long lecture about how sensitive (敏感) Americans are and how they dislike the description "old". I then walked back to the table and apologized to the wife. After the couple heard my reason, they understood that the problem was caused by cultural differences, so they laughed and were no longerangry.

In my village in China, people are proud of being old. Not so many people live to be seventy oreighty, and people who reach such an age have the most knowledge and experience. Young people always respect older people because they know they can learn from their rich experience.

However, in the United States, people think "growing old" is a problem since "old" shows that aperson is going to retire or that the body is not working well. Here many people try to keep themselvesaway from growing old by doing exercises or jogging, and women put on makeup, hoping to look young. When I told the couple in the restaurant that I respect the elderly, they got angry because this causedthem to feel they had failed to stay young. I had told them something they didn't want to hear.

After that, I changed the way I had been with older people. It is not that I don't respect them anymore; I still respect them, but now I don't show my feelings through words.

B.made friends with the couple

C.no longer respected the elderly

5Which of the following is TRUE?
