It's reported that a man arrived in Shenzhen on Sunday after riding all the way from Venice, Italy, to China on a Silk Road journey that began in September 2015.

Liu Haixiang shared his story of riding across 15 countries in 250 days and said he wanted to promote (宣传) his home town, Quanzhou, Fujian Province, the starting point of the ancient Silk Road, as well as to help Quanzhou become a World Heritage City.

The moon was behind a cloud and there weren’t many stars in the sky.

It was a dark night. I saw a glow(光，光亮) in my neighbour’s kitchen. I thought he was having a night meal so I went back to my bed.

Soon, there was a smell of burning (烧东西的焦糊味) in the air and I thought there was probably something wrong. I jumped out of the bed quickly and went out to make sure. I saw a fire coming out of my neighbour’s kitchen. Then I shouted "Fire! Fire!" But no one in the neighbourhood heard my shouts for help.
