1We had painted the house before we _____(move) in.

2Tom said he ______(read) the book twice.

3Most of my good friends ______(leave) when I ____(arrive) at the party.

4By the time I ______(walk) into the store, someone ______(buy) the jeans I wanted.

5My mother ______(come) back from the market when I _____(get) up.

1moved

2had read

3had leftarrived

4walkedhad bought

5had comegot

Tom said he ____(read) the book twice.
