题目内容

【题目】 Have you ever tried to write a poem(诗,诗歌)? It’s easier than you might think. Just pick up a pen and begin practicing. Here are the steps to write a poem.

Choose your topic.1 Some people can start writing poems without really deciding what to write about; when their pen or pencil hits the paper, the words just flow (畅流). Most people, on the other hand, need a topic and as a beginner, this is the best way to start. It’s easier to write a good poem about something you know well or you have experienced.

Free write for five minutes about your topic. Then go back and read it. Are any words or expressions especially good? 2 For example, if you are describing something (a bird), write down descriptive words about it (looks, colors), and the kind of story you would like to tell about (the bird fell out of a tree). If you are writing about an event in your life, write down your feelings and thoughts of that event.

Write your poem. Remember, a poem doesn’t have to rhyme(押韵).3 But it should show your feelings of the topic. And it should sound nice to you.

Have a friend read your poem aloud to you.

4 If not, go back and rewrite the parts you don’t like.

5 Read it to others. Read it aloud to yourself. Put it somewhere if you want.

A. Do you like the way it sounds?

B. Mark(作记号) them and use them in your poem.

C. Enjoy your poem.

D. What would you like your poem to be about?

E. It doesn’t have to use sentences, either.

F. It’s very easy to write a poem.

G. Read your poems loudly when you are free.

【题目】 For most people, it is easy to read faster. Your reading speed is just a matter of habit. At first, however, you may need to change your bad reading habits. It is important to pay attention when you read. Some people read books and watch TV at the same time. They can't concentrate on the reading material as well as the TV programs. A teacher once told me that I could learn anything well if I did three things: pay attention, pay attention and pay attention.

There are some simple things that you can do to pay better attention and get more from reading. Many researchers say that you will improve your reading ability if you preview the passage before you actually read every word of it. Previewing is a good way to improve your ability to pay attention.

To do a preview you should:

● spend 30-60 seconds;

● look at the title of the passage;

● look at the headings and subheadings. They are usually underlined, in italics (斜体字) or in dark print;

● look at the pictures, forms and explanations;

● read the first and last paragraphs quickly and glance(扫视) at the first sentence of each paragraph;

● close the book and ask yourself:

What is the main idea?

What kind of passage is it?

What is the author's purpose?

You might not think that you could do all these things in so little time, but if you do the preview correctly, you will have a good general idea of the passage. If you have a general idea, you will be able to understand and remember the passage better.

If you can preview better, your ability to pay attention will be better.

【题目】 Some people wonder why countries spend millions of dollars on space projects. They want to know how space research helps people on Earth. Actually, space technology helps people on Earth every day. This is called “spinoff technology”. Spinoff technology is space technology that is now used on Earth.

In early space programs, such as the Apollo missions(任务) of the 1960s and 1970s, and in the space shuttle missions today, scientists developed objects for the astronauts to use on the moon and in space. We now use some of these objects every day. For example, we have Quartz clocks and watches with an accuracy of one minute a year. We purify the water we drink with a water filter(过滤器) designed for the astronauts' use in space. The cordless, hand-held tools we use in our homes, such as cleaners, flashlights, drills, and irons came from the technology of these early space programs.

On cold winter days, we can stay warm with battery - operated shoes and socks, and insulated(绝缘的) coats and jackets. All of these clothes are similar to the spacesuit designs that keep astronauts comfortable in the temperatures of the moon, and are spinoffs from space technology.

These products are only a few examples of the many ways space technology helps us in our everyday life. No one knows how new spinoff technology from the International Space Station will help us in the future.
