Last weekend, I went camping with my dad and my brother, Jim. We took a tent, sleeping bags, flashlights, water and food. We got to the campsite on Saturday afternoon. There was enough room (空间) to build a campfire (篝火). Jim and I collected some dry leaves, small sticks and branches and dad started a campfire. Then we cooked potatoes and tomatoes for our supper. We also had some apple cakes for dessert. Everything tasted delicious.

Soon it was time to put up the tent (帐篷). We helped dad take the tent out of the bag, but unluckily, we found there was no pole (杆子) to hold it up. “Oh,” cried Jim, “I must have them left at home. What should we do?” Dad looked up at the starry sky. The night was clear and the air was warm. “It’s OK,” he said to us, “We don’t even need a tent.” He put the sleeping bags on the ground.

We slept well that night. The sun was shining on us when we woke up the next morning. We think it was our best camping trip.

Probably the dog that bit me. It wasn’t a big one - I don’t mind the big ones. The small ones are the worst. It gave me a very nasty bite.

Have you ever done any other jobs?

Yes, I did different kinds of jobs when I was a student. One summer I did fruit-picking in Spain.

What’s the worst job you’ve ever done?

In order to improve my English, I worked for a rich family in New York. I never had a day off and I had to do everything cooking, cleaning, shopping- and look after their horrible children. I left after two weeks and managed to get a job as a waitress in an Italian restaurant.
