How to Spend Our Pocket Money

As families are now living a better life,we kids can have some pocket money.

One day,a rich father took his young son on a trip to the countryside. He wanted to show him how poor the villagers were and wished him to cherish (珍惜) what he had. They spent two days in a poor family in the village.

On their return from the trip,the father asked his son ,“How was the trip?”

“It was great,Dad. ”

“Did you see how poor people could be??, the father asked.

“Oh,yeah”’ said the son.

“So what did you learn from the trip?” asked the father.

After thinking for a while,the son answered, “I saw that we have one dog,while they have four. We have a pool in the garden. But they have a small river without an end. At night,we have small lights in the garden,but they have the stars in the sky. We buy our food,but they grow theirs. We have walls around to keep us safe but they have friends. ” You could imagine the look on the father's face!Then the son went on, “Thanks,Dad. Now I know how poor we are. ”

Michael went back to Fullerton,his hometown. His visit to Fullerton was very special to him. 3. He was born there;he grew up there. But he hadn’t been back there since he finished high school.

He passed by the field where he and his friends had played baseball every day after school. He saw people he hadn’t seen in years. He visited several of his old neighbors. He said hello to the owners of the candy store near his house. And he also went to see Mrs. Riley,his tenth-grade science teacher.

Michael's trip back to Fullerton was a very nostalgic (怀旧的) experience for him. Going back to Fullerton brought back many memories of days gone by.
