– Oh, yes. I bought it in a store online.

A. where did you buy B. where do you buy

C. where you buy D. where you bought

【答案】D

【解析】

句意:——杰克,你的体恤衫非常漂亮,你能告诉我你在哪里买的它吗?——哦,可以。我在网上商店里买的它。根据I bought it in a store online.可知此处用一般过去时,作为动词tell的宾语从句,用陈述语序:疑问词+主语+谓语+宾语,故选D。

In 1990, Debbie Spaide and a group of children volunteered to water the garden for an elderly neighbour (邻居) in New Canaan, CT. A few weeks later, the same kids made 150 bag lunches for a soup kitchen (a place where people with no money and no homes can get free food). Debbie Spaide told her friends about her experiences. After just a few weeks, the group grew to over 50 young people. That was the beginning of GenerationOn Kids Care Clubs.

GenerationOn Kids Care Clubs are groups of young people who work together to help people in need in their communities and around the world. GenerationOn Kids Care Clubs can be found in schools, churches, volunteer centres and many other centres. Today there are more than 1,800 registered (已注册的) GenerationOn Kids Care Clubs in the world and 80,000 kids in the United States and countries including Australia, Canada and China.

Anywhere that there are kids working together to help others, there is a GenerationOn Kids Care Club in the making. If you are interested in starting a GenerationOn Kids Care Club, go to www.kidscare.org.

【题目】It was not long ago that I first learned how important having a passion(激情) is to life.

That day I went with my mom to drive my sister to the library.I was bored. Then,as my mom stopped at a red light, someone on the side of the road caught my attention. It was a man dressed in rags(破旧衣服).He was homeless. That didn't interest me,for I had seen many like him before.

But in some way he was different. This man was not sitting down with a sad expression. He had a radio in his hand and was dancing happily to the music. The radio seemed to be the most precious thing he had.

“Mom,why does that man have a radio even though he's homeless?” I asked.

“He bought it,” she answered.I was still confused.

“But if he's homeless, why doesn't he use the money to buy food or clothes? He wasted it on something he doesn't need.”

“Well,Sarah, sometimes food and clothes aren't the most important things. We need happiness, too.”

That man must care enough about music,so he bought a radio instead of food or clothes.I soon realized that happiness is the key to life.Without it,there's nothing to expect.A passion gives a person the feeling of happiness they need to keep going.

Since then I've never spent a day without thinking of what's truly important.A home,a meal, clothes—these things are not the only things that make up our lives. What's often forgotten is that we all need a joy and a light in a dark day.We all need a passion.
