One of the famous voices of the 20th century has been silenced: Lady Margaret Thatcher , Britain's former Prime Minister (首相) has decided to follow her doctor's advice and will never make a speech in public again .
76-year-old Thatcher has suffered (患)slight stroke (中风) several times . Her family and friends worry a lot about her failing health .
When she was still the Prime Minister, Lady Thatcher used to sleep only four hours a day . Even after she retired from this post (岗位) she had a lot of work to do as a member in the House of Lords (英国上议院) .
But after two days of tests recently, doctors told her that another stroke could be very dangerous . So she decided to quit (停止) all public speaking. It means she has to bow out of (退出) public life .
