   All the energy we use comes from the Earth. Electricity doesn’t come directly from the Earth,but we make it using the Earth5s resources,like coal or natural gas. Both coal and natural gas were formed deep under the ground hundreds of millions of years ago. Once they are used up,they are gone forever. Moreover,the burning of them harms the environment.

   New energy is made from wind,water and sunshine. (1) It is also called “clean energy” or “green power” because it doesn’t pollute the air or the water. However,we don't use new energy all the time. One reason is tha unlike natural gas and coal,we can't store up (储存) wind and sunshine. (2) If the wind doesn’t or the sun hides behind , there wouldn’t be enough power for everyone. Another reason is that coal and natural gas are cheaper. It costs more money to make electricity from wind,and most people are not willing to pay more.
