根据文章第一部分“On show are more than 220 photos …the Long March from…,可知,在展览中你会看到有关长征的图片。故选D

2推理判断题。根据文中第二部分 “Eight elephants from …by riding bicycles, …dancing and blowing a harmonica”,可知A,B,D选项都涉及到了,根据第三部分“Dolphins leaping from … doing maths by tapping their tails”可知,“doing maths”应该是dolphins能做的。

根据文章第二部分“The elephants give three shows a day at 9:30 a.m., 3:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. and there is an extra show at 1:30 p.m. at weekends.” 所以去看演出的时间为星期天的“9:30 a.m., 3:30 p.m., 8:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m.”,故答案为A

根据第三部分“kissing people …the dolphinarium(海豚水族馆)in Shenzhen Ocean Park ”可知能看到“dolphins”, 结合后文的 “Seals and sea lions also perform.”

可知也能看到“seals and sea lions perform”。故选A

根据第一部分的“Admission: 8 yuan for Chinese/15 yuan for foreigners”可知不是免费的,A错误;根据第二部分“People are encouraged to lie on the ground and have the elephants step over them.”

Some people are standing at a group of low hills in West Texas. Suddenly, they observe glowing reddish - orange lights. Are they the headlights of cars on the highway? Are they the lights of campfires? The people shout and point because the lights are moving! But they aren’t moving the way cars move. They shoot up in the air. They fall back to the earth. And then ... they simply disappear!

Every night, people go to observe the famous Marfa lights. The lights are named for the town of Marfa, Texas, where these lights can be seen in the distant hills east of the town. Over the years there have been many beliefs about these strange lights. One theory is that the lights are the headlights of cars driving down the road.

But that could not be true. Settlers in the 1880s wrote about the lights long before there were cars with headlights. At that time, pioneers thought the Marfa lights were the campfires of Apaches2 in the hills. When the pioneers would ride into the hills, they could find no evidence3 of campsites of fires. Later, the settlers learned that the Apaches, too, could see the lights. They thought the lights were stars that had come down the earth.

Some people say that the lights are moonlight shining on metal in the hills. Others say they are made by gases from swamps4. Some scientists have tried to prove that lights from planets or starts reflect5 in a strange way on the hills. That doesn’t help us understand why the lights “dance”. They move up and down, slow down and speed up. These dancing “stars”, the Marfa lights, stay a mystery.

A group of scientists from Sweden have unlocked one of nature's biggest secrets. The scientists have worked out how spiders make such strong silk when they build their webs. The silk that spiders make is strong and even tougher than steel. Being able to produce man-made spider silk has long been a dream of many scientists. Now, researchers from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences have, step by step, developed a method that works. They've found that the materials for webs arc in a spider's silk gland (丝腺) as protein. The gland has a level of acidity (酸度) that helps make the protein into very strong silk. The researchers reported that they could produce man-made spider silk by copying the process.

The new man-made silk could be very useful to humans. Doctors are interested in it. They think it can help people get well after a bum. Some doctors believe the new silk could be used to take the place of the torn ligaments (撕裂的韧带) in the body. Plane makers and makers of protective clothing also see many uses for the new silk.

Senior researcher Anna Rising spoke about how the new discovery could be. She said, "This is the first successful example of copying spider silk-making process. In the future, this may allow industrial production of man-made silk, which can be used in many fields and make our life much better. The silk could become a valuable material for us."
