Water, it’s a problem for the whole world. A bottle (瓶) of water may not seem like much to us, 21 it can help the people who live in drought-hit (遭受旱灾的) areas in China.
In the past few months, many places in southwest China have 22 a serious drought. There has been very little 23 since last autumn. More than 20 million people are 24 trouble finding safe drinking water.
After learning about the drought, many people around the country helped by 25 away water, money and other resources (资源) to the people there.
Last week, the Young Pioneers and the Communist Youth League in China called on (号召) each student to give one bottle of water to the drought-hit area. In Xi’an, 900 students bought over 1000 bottles of water 26 their pocket money. They also wrote their 27 on the bottles. “I hope you get more rain there. I hope you are happy.”
A bottle of water isn’t much, but thousands of bottles will be very 28 . The serious drought has also made students 29 the importance of saving water. One student said, “I have decided to take a shower twice a week 30 every day to save water.”

Long long ago, a young man found a spring of delicious clean water while he was going through the desert. He brought some back to the oldest man in his village, who had been his teacher before. After a four-day journey he sent the water to the old man who took a deep drink, smiled warmly and thanked his student for the sweet water. The young man returned to his village happily. The next day, the teacher let another student taste the water. He spat it out, saying it was awful. It went bad because it had stayed in the old leather container(皮革容器) for so many days in such hot weather. The student asked his teacher why he pretended(假装) to like the awful water. The teacher replied, "You only tasted the water. I tasted the gift. The water was simply the container for love and kindness. And nothing could be sweeter than these."
I think we understand this lesson best when we receive small gifts of love from very young kids. Whether it's a slice of bread or a piece of colored paper, the natural and right response(反应) is to show our thanks and happiness because we get love from the gift.
To show our thanks doesn't always come naturally. Unfortunately, most children and many adults only see the thing itself. They never feel the meaning of the thing. We should tell ourselves and teach our children about showing thanks and happiness to the persons who give the gifts from their hearts because gifts from the heart are really gifts of the heart.

What will you do to make sure you reach your goals? There are 1 main steps .
First, sit down and 2 your dreams out. By writing them you will get a better idea of where you really want to go. Imagine yourself at the end of the year or maybe 3 five years. What do you see? 4 do people see you? What are you doing? Are you 5 ?
Well, a dream is just that. It’s a vision (远见) of how you 6 yourself in the future. As long as you know the direction in which you want to go, you can begin 7 some goals.
8 come the goals. Goals are ‘wants’. So are dreams, but goals are more specific (具体的). If you want to be rich, tell how much 9 you need to be rich. If you want 10 grades, tell what you mean by ‘good’. In fact, the more specific the goal is, the 11 it will be to get it. Give numbers and times. Don’t use words like ‘lots’ or ‘more’. 12, I want a ‘B’ in each of my subjects.
Third are the objectives (目标). They tell 13 what you will do and when you will do it. When you think about what you will do, don’t use words like ‘ 14 ’ or ‘maybe’. Be sure your objectives can be measured (估量). Every day or every week you can ask, ‘Did I 15 this?’ and you can answer with either a yes or a no. Don’t leave room for ‘maybes’.
