Neijae Graham—Henries is one of the world's youngest barbers(理发师). At just 7 years old, she learned about haircut at a well—known barber school in America. Now Neijae, 8, is already able to give haircuts to others.

Neijae says she didn't think much about hair or styling(造型)at the very beginning. But one day, she visited a barber school with her older brother, who thought he might want to cut hair. Her brother finally decided it wasn't for him, but Neijae showed interest. She said, "Mom, he doesn't want to do it. I'll give it a go!”

Neijae was the only girl in her class. 她也是班上最小的学生。During the six—week course, Neijae asked her teacher a lot of questions. "She was not afraid to stand up to ask questions.”said her mother. After Neijae finished the course, a video of her made her popular on the Internet. Neijae got to meet famous barbers and appear on a famous TV show.

Neijae now gives back to the neighborhoods. She gives free haircuts to homeless people and the kids in her school. Neijae says there is one person she really wants to give a haircut. "Donald Trump,” she said. Why? "因为他有太多长头发。

A couple of days ago, I saw a dog named Cookie. He was dying of cancer (癌). The dog’s owners, Steven and Maggie were very ________, and so was their little boy, Jimmy. I told the family we couldn’t do ________ for Cookie, and I told them that they could give the old dog the euthanasia procedure (安乐死) in their home.

The next day, I felt a catch in my throat as Cookie’s family was around him. Jimmy petted (爱抚) the old dog for the last time. In a few minutes, Cookie died ________. The little boy seemed to accept Cookie’s death. We sat together for a while-after Cookie’s death, talking about why animal lives are shorter than human lives. Jimmy, who as listening quietly said, “I know why.”

“People are born so that they can learn how to ________… like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?” Jimmy said, “Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don’t have to stay as long as human beings.”

So remember, if a dog was the teacher, you would learn things like:

●When loved ones come home, always run to meet them.

●Run, ________, and play daily.

●Let people touch you.

●On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a big tree.

●When you are happy, dance around.

●Never pretend to be something you’re not.

●When someone is having a bad day, the dog ________, sit close by and nuzzle (轻触) him.

●Love people and don’t remember the wrong things they do for you.
