Dear Wang Lei,

To learn English well, you need to work on all areas of the language. The four main fields for you to focus on are: reading, writing, speaking and listening. You need to master these skills because they’re important in becoming a good English speaker.

Here are three good ways to help you to learn English well. First, I think you should speak as often and as much as possible! This is the best way to learn English! There is nothing better than conversation to help you improve. The best way to do this is to be in an English- speaking environment. It is also a good idea to get into the habit of thinking in English, don’t translate from your own language into English, it will slow you down. When you talk, use the sentences which feel right to you, these are often the correct ones. You could also try to improve your English by watching TV shows, or movies in English.

I hope that these ways may help you. Good luck!

Yours,

Zhang Liang

Tomb Sweeping Day falls on April 5 this year. On the day , Chinese families sweep the tombs and clean away the grass around them .Them they burn paper money and put flowers and fruit in front of the tombs. They hope the dead can enjoy them and bring the family good luck.

【题目】 A successful experiment (实验) in the deserts of Dubai (迪拜) may deal with hunger around the world. A team of Chinese scientists has tried to develop a kind of rice that grows in salt water. Not only that, it produces far more rice than you can imagine.

Back in January, 2018, the researchers were invited to plant some of the saltwater rice in different areas of the desert. Usual water is too expensive to waste on rice in those desert areas. After five months of growth, they produce up to 7.8 tons of rice a hectare (公顷). At the same time, the world average (平均数) stands at 3.3 tons a hectare.

The researchers from China are continuing the experiment by setting up a 100-hectare salt-water rice farm in 2019. It will show the costs of production and different farming skills. They hope to plant saltwater rice on more farms in 2020.
