15．Mother Teresa spent her whole life helping the poor，the sick，and the helpless．Mother Teresa was born on 26，August 1910．She grew up in the Serbian town of Skopje，the capital of the Republic of Macedonia．Her birth name was Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu．Her father died when she was eight and she was raised by her mother．At the age of 18she became a missionary（传教士） to India．
