【题目】 Did ancient Chinese people have weekends or public holidays? The weekly calendar (日历) was invented in the West. In ancient China, there were no such things as weekends. But people did take days off in the past.

For example, during the Han Dynasty, officials (官员) took one day off every five days. When it came to Tang Dynasty, officials had to work for ten days before they could rest for one day. But this was still reasonable, because officials at the time shared their work together.
