Today was the first day of the National Day holiday.

One day a doctor got a call for a boy’s surgery（手术）. He answered the call as soon as possible, changed his clothes and went quickly to the surgery room. After he entered the hospital in a hurry, he found the boy’s father waiting in the hall.

When he saw the doctor, the dad shouted, “Why did you take all this time to come? Don’t you know that my son’s life is in danger?” The doctor smiled and said, “I am sorry, I wasn’t in the hospital but I came as fast as I could after receiving the call... And now, I think you should calm down so that I can do my work.”

“Calm down? If your son is in this room right now, would you calm down? If your own son is dying now, what will you do?” said the father angrily. The doctor smiled again and replied, “We will do our best and you should pray（祈祷） for your son’s health.”

The surgery took some hours, the doctor went out happily. “Thank goodness!Your son is saved!” And without waiting for the father’s reply, he left the hospital by saying, “If you have any question, ask the nurse!”

“Why is he so rude? He couldn’t wait some minutes so that I could ask something about my son?” the father asked a nurse some questions after the doctor left. The nurse cried and answered, “His son died yesterday in a road accident. He was in the funeral（葬礼） when we called him for your son’s surgery. And now he saved your son’s life, he left running to finish his son’s funeral.”
