How time flies! Three years of junior high school has gone by before we know it.

¡¾´ð°¸¡¿How time flies! Three years of junior high school has gone by before we know it.

Each time I look back on my school days, I feel regretful, because one of my wishes hasn't been realized. That is to learn how to play the guitar.

Although I am really interested in playing the instrument, I was busy working at my lessons. Besides, there was much homework to every day.

The end of junior high school is the beginning of new life. If I can enter the senior school, I will take part in after-school activities to learn to play the guitar. I believe I'll live a colorful life in the senior high school.

China had one of the earliest civilizations(ÎÄÃ÷) in the world. 43 We know the Chinese had a written language as early as 1500 BC. You can see that Chinese writing is very different from the writing in other countries. The Chinese use a different character for each word. People in many countries have to learn only 26 letters but people in China have to memorize about 600 characters before they can do even basic reading and writing.

A man in China, named Confucius(¿××Ó), was teaching the people of China what they should and should not do. He was a great wise man. His teachings filled several books and became a way of life for the Chinese, and many other people in Asia. Confucius taught that people should listen to their kings, and also that rulers should take care of their people. He taught people to listen to their parents and teachers and to be kind to others. He said, ¡°44 Don¡¯t do to others what you would not want others to do to you.¡±

Many inventions were made and used in China before the rest of the world even heard of them. By 600 AD the Chinese had invented printing. After a few centuries, they made the compass, which was a great help to sailors. A compass can tell north from south. The Chinese were the first to discover how to make explosive powder(»ðÒ©).

From all this, you can see that the Chinese were very busy making things that the rest of the world found really exciting and helpful when people learnt about them.

[1] I¡¯m a 34-year-old man, married, lived in a nice house, and have a successful career. But my life was not always so great. I had a learning disability from an early age. I went to a special school where I got plenty of extra (¶îÍâµÄ) help. Still, I suffered the rest of my school days in public schools.

[2] My life improved greatly when I discovered art. The art world gave me a chance to express myself without words. I went to a workshop and gradually became good at making things with clay. Here I learned my first important lesson: disabled as I was in language, I could still be smart and well express myself with clay. And my confidence£¨×ÔÐÅ£©came along.

[3] I got my next lesson from rock climbing. It was a fun thing but I was scared from the start. £¨68£©I soon noticed it wasn¡¯t a talent thing; it needed lots of practice. So I did it more. After about five years of climbing, I found myself in Yosemite Valley on a big wall. I learned that if you fall in love with something and do it all the time, you will get better at it.

[4] Later I decided to learn (69) ¢Ù to read and write. I practiced reading and(69)¢Ú , which I used to avoid as much as possible. After two years, I was literate(ÓÐÎÄ»¯µÄ).

[5] Through the long process with art, (69) ¢Û , and reading and writing, now I¡¯ve got to a point in my life: I am smart enough to dive into (DZÈë) an area that is totally unknown, hard, but interesting.
