【题目】 William and Tim were going into morning assembly along with all the other students. Tim looked around him for signs of trouble, but everything seemed normal. Mrs Barrow began with the Student of the Year projects.

"There are a lot of excellent projects," she said. "I'll mention just a few of them today." She paused for a moment "Claire and Lynn, can you please stand up?"

Lynn stood up, but turned red and stared at the floor.

"Claire and Lynn have started a Reading for Kids project. Good work, Claire and Lynn. Jenny, can you stand up, please?" Jenny stood up. "Now, all those pictures and items of artwork on display around the school are part of Jenny’s Arkwright project. Well done, Jenny! "

"William", said Mrs Barrow. "Where are you, William?'

William opened his eyes and stood up.

"William is helping old people in the community through his Citizens' Aid project. A truly excellent idea. I wish everyone would care for others the way William does. "

"Tim Norris," said Mrs Barrow. Her voice was serious. Her expression was serious. "Will you please come to the stage?" Tim's heart pounded. He looked at William but William looked away. Tim stood up and walked to the front of the school hall. The other children stared at him as he climbed the steps of the stage and walked to where Mrs Barrow was standing.

Tim looked down at his trainers. They had mud and grass on them. He wanted to hide his feet.

"I want everyone here to take note of what Tim has done," said Mrs Barrow. "In just a very short space of time, he has cleaned up the whole school as part of his KAT project. Now every class has a KAT person and the school is litter-free. Thank you, Tim. "

All the students and staff clapped their hands. Tim gave a huge sigh of relief.

Mr Graham was late for class that morning. By the time he arrived, the children were laughing and talking at the top of their voices. Mr Graham looked pale and upset. The students fell silent immediately.

They knew something was wrong.

"Tim," said MR Graham, "could you please go to Mrs Barrow's office. Go right now," he said.

【题目】 Can you remember a time when somebody was kind to you? Perhaps a person allowed you to go in front of him or her in a long line. 1 Or perhaps a stranger or a friend helped you in a much deeper way. There are many ways to offer kindness. Few people would disagree with the idea that an act of kindness is a win-win situation. 2

Many organizations try to encourage people to do kind acts, wherever and whenever they can. The idea behind this is that it doesn’t take much to be kind, just a little bit of effort. 3 It works with schools and companies to teach people kindness skills. It holds the belief that kindness can be taught and can spread.

According to the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation, there are three kinds of kindness. 4 Some examples are giving away old clothes to people in need or writing a positive online comment (积极的网上评论) about a restaurant that you like. 【题目】 Everything starts as a dream, a thought or an image in your mind, but this is just the first step to success. You should take action. If you stay there, you will enjoy your dream. One day you will see that you are standing still, like a person watching a beautiful and inspiring movie over and over again, but not going out to the real world to create and live what he or she has seen in the movie.

Are you waiting for some miracles (奇迹) to change your life? Sometimes, miracles do happen, but why not make the miracles happen? By taking part in its creation; by planning, watching, expecting, and acting, you can help the miracles happen.

For most people, it looks like a difficult step, because they don’t know where to start and what to do. Don’t be afraid of the “action” part. You can take action that takes you closer to your goals, even if you don’t have enough money, time, or the proper abilities.

The people who succeed are always those who would take action. They think, plan, read, and look around them to see open doors, then take action. This has to do with every area of life, including relationships, work, material success, self-improvement and spiritual growth.

Sometimes, you might find yourself pushed into an open door, toward success. But in most situations, you will see the door and notice it, but you need the “action part” of opening it, passing through it, and doing things to make the goal come true.

Don’t wait for the opportunity to come. Create the opportunity. Believe that it is already here, and improve yourself for it, so that when it appears, you can hold it, and make the most of it.
