The idea of writing a book came from a teacher named Richard Avila at his first college. Cavalin says Avila inspired (启发) him to write a book to explain how he succeeded, so he could inspire other people.

It took Cavalin four years to finish the book. Because his mother is Chinese, she wanted to publish the book in Chinese. So Cavalin translated the book into Chinese by himself. The book did well in Taiwan, Singapore and Malaysia.

Florence Nightingale was born in a rich family .When she was young ,she took lessons in music and drawing ,and read great books. She also traveled a great deal (大量地) with her parents.
