For people, it's not surprising that we can open a door, lift a heavy box and control ourselves while walking in the snow. But can a robot do this? Well, Google's new robot, Atlas, can not only do these things, but it can also stand up if it falls down. Although the robot may be slow and clumsy, it was created mainly to work in dangerous places for humans.

Now, robots are much smarter than you might imagine. On March 9 this year, AlphaGo, an artificial intelligence (AI, 人工智能) program made by Google's DeepMind, challenged top professional Go player Lee Se?dol from South Korea. And AlphaGo beat Lee at last.

AI is when computers or computer software is able to have intelligent behavior, such as thinking or acting like a human. In our daily lives, we already use AI in many ways, like Apple's Siri and search engines like Baidu and Google.

Some people may worry whether computers are now smart enough to beat us at everything. But experts say that is not the case. Real life problems can be more difficult than the Go game. For example, humans can watch a person throw down a cup of coffee and know that the result will be a mess on the floor. A computer program would have to know the size of the cup, the height of the cup from the floor and many other things to find out the result. But we never know what will happen in the future.

“Who did this?” asked Miss Green.

There were 30 children in the classroom and all were trying to think about not only what they did, but also what our teacher already knew.

“Who broke this window?”

“Uh , Oh.” I thought. I was the one who broke the window with a football. I did not mean to do it. I would be in a lot of trouble. How could I pay for a big window like that? I didn't want to put up my hand. But I had to tell the truth. So, I put up my hand and told the teacher I broke the window.

Miss Green went to the bookshelf(书架)and took down a book.

“I know how you like birds, Peter.” She said. “Here is a book about birds and the book is yours now. I will not punish(惩罚)you this time. But Peter, you should remember that I am rewarding (奖赏) you for your honesty (诚实), not for breaking the window.”

I couldn't believe it! The teacher didn't punish me and I was getting my favorite book. Now, I still use that book, and it always reminds me of (使我想起) the lesson my teacher taught me.

Honesty is always best.
