Sometimes, laughter can help us discover the beauty of life. Whether it's caused by joy or embarrassment, it's an indispensable(不可或缺的) part of life.

Just now, an old photo reminded me of an unforgettable experience. When I was twelve years old, my family flew to America to go on a trip. The fantastic places of interest left me good memories. However, on the last day of the journey, I made a funny mistake.

That evening, my mother asked me to buy some food by myself. I ran to the supermarket happily. After a while, I put a few things, including a bag of bone-like biscuits, into the shopping basket that I had brought from home.

When I came back to the hotel, I asked my mom if she took pride in me. Suddenly, she started laughing loudly. I had no idea what had made her laugh so much. A few minutes later, she explained to me that the bag of biscuits was dog food. She looked at me and pointed at the English words on the bag, laughing again. At that moment, I felt so awkward(尴尬的) that my face turned red right off. And I realized that I could never be too careful.

As time goes by, I've forgotten a number of things, but this memory is still clear. Life won't be colorful unless we can find beauty in little things like this. Don't you think so?

Dear Aunt Emma,

I was so happy to get your letter yesterday.

I am heavier than you saw me last year, and I’m even the heaviest in my class now. So Mom wants me to go on a diet. Vegetables are good for my health, but meat isn’t. Now I eat more vegetables but less meat and do more exercise than before. For example, I jump rope for thirty minutes every day and go swimming every weekend. By the way, I am the best swimmer in my class. I won the first prize at the swimming race last week.

Dad often takes me to the beach in summer. Summer is the best season to swim. It’s also my favorite season. Summer is coming. It is getting hotter and hotter. Would you like to go swimming with us when you come back to Dalian this summer? It will be fun.

Of course, to me, getting taller is important, too. I am only 150 cm tall now. I’m the shortest of all the boy students in my class. Rope- jumping will help me to become taller than I am now.

Hope to see you soon.

Love,

Jack
