Lunch is an important meal for growing students. In the US, schools across the country are changing their menus to serve healthier food, but most schools give students little time to eat.

A new survey by the School Nutrition Association of the US shows primary school students have about 25 minutes for lunch and middle school and high school students about 30 minutes. That includes the time students need to go to the restroom, wash their hands, walk to the cafeteria and stand in line for their meals.

In fact, students may have only about 10 to 15 minutes to eat their meals, but they need at least 20, the association says.

Many students feel rushed at lunchtime. Jamie Taylor, a 15-year-old student at an Oklahoma middle school, thinks that healthy foods often take more time to eat.

“For example, it takes more time to chew a whole apple than some applesauce, and eating a salad takes longer than eating a cheeseburger or chicken nuggets,” Taylor said. “You always have to rush to the cafeteria and rush to eat every time. ’’

Besides, some kids eat their favorite foods first, and if they run out of time, those vegetables may get left behind.

“It has made it impossible to have the joy of sitting down and enjoying a lunch,” says Helen Phillips, president of the Association.

Phillips thinks that, nowadays, the attitude is to make students sit down and eat and get it over with quickly. “I don’t know if there is a perfect way,but we will try to make it as    perfect    as we can,” Phillips said.

More or less everybody will meet with unusual experiences during his or her

lifetime, which one can’t forget forever. There were many unforgettable and unusual experiences in my 21 years of life, but one experience that happened in my life of university impresses me most and through which I learn something special and meaningful.

It is a clear morning that I got on a bus to Zhongshan Gym with another 20 students. There was a walking activity spreading the spirit of Olympics being held there. We were asked to take responsible for the area of games after people walked back. Around 11 o’clock the area of games began to open, after which we started our busy job. During the games,we met with some troubles. For one thing,we had to work under the sunshine and be familiar to the rule of awards(奖品)exchange, also had to explain to the people again and again. For another thing, since the gamers were mainly olds and some of them didn’t obey the game rules,we had to avoid the wrong hits while avoiding hurting their hearts. However, after 1 hour’s busy work we felt quite excited although so tired.

On the whole unusual experience mentioned above,I maintain many educational points.    First, one should be    patient    with    everybody you meet    and    improve  the  ability  of  dealing    with problems calmly. Besides, keep    smiling while in troubles, through which    you can impress others with kindness and happiness. Last but not the least, learn to undertake tiredness and despair(绝望)when something feels like not the developing trend(趋势)of your idealistic(理想的).

Experience in reality, learn through experience. I look forward to experiencing more unusual things and learning more.
