Ever since 1 was little, my favorite season was winter. I loved to play in the snow and enjoyed the hot chocolate.
1, winter never gave me the special gift of snow on my birthday. I would ask my grandmother2it didn’t snow on my birthday. She would laugh and tell me I asked too many questions.3one day, she promised that she would make it snow on my next birthday.
That year,4my birthday, my grandmother died. I was sad but angry because she had promised to make it snow. The day of my sixth birthday, I woke up and ran to the window, hopingto see just one snowflake(雪花). But there was no5. I felt mad at my grandmother. She had broken a promise.
By my sixteenth birthday, I6all hope of getting my snow, even though I still wished for it.
During my party, I stayed with my friends and family and was truly7. I8the best time ever! Then I saw the white snow9down all around. I was so excited that I ran around screaming and laughing. My friends all laughed10me, but I didn’t care.
When I11home, my grandpa said he had a gift for me. I was12because he had given me a gift. It was a small white box, which looked old. I opened it. There was a crystal snowflake(冰晶雪花)with a card that13, “Happy Birthday.”
How could this be? My grandpa said it was my grandmother’s final14on my “sweet sixteenth”. I cried.
I was15that my smiling grandmother angel was and had been watching over me.

When I was a little girl, mum and dad told me that if you plant something in spring, you’11 get more in autumn. I1this without doubt.
At the age of six, while I was eating a big apple, I dropped a tooth.
I was so2that I cried all of a sudden and rushed to my grandma’s room. She held the tooth and smiled, “Don’t worry, dear. It’s a baby tooth. You will have a new tooth in a few3.”
“A new tooth?” I fell very surprised.
“Yes, you will have that tooth4you get old, so you must protect your new tooth well. When you grow old, the teeth will fall out again,5this time, it won’t grow again. So it’s not easy for old people to eat anything,” grandma said.
I went out of grandma’s room and thought, “6should I put the dropped tooth?”
Suddenly, a wonderful thought came into my mind: Why not plant it in the ground? If I took good care of it, day after day, maybe it would become a big tree. When7came, there would be many white and strong8on the tree. I could pick them and send them to the9people who needed them. So then they could eat well and always open their mouths with a smile full of beautiful teeth.
Of course my tooth didn’t grow into a big tree, but beautiful thoughts made my childhood warm and unforgettable. With them, I10up.
